Besides, the 20# Mamian is located on the north section of the west wall and the Chaozong Building on the Peribolos of Gongjimen, which is approved by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and listed in the wall strengthening and repairing project. The whole repair project will last for one year with the state appropriation and comprises: removing the wild trees and grasses from all sections thoroughly, filling and impacting the earth wall, paving the sidewalk, strengthening or rebuilding the broken wall, repairing the fortified wall, and recovering the Mamian loophole. The repair project is focused on the "Chaozong Builing" on the north gate.
The north gate is a complete ancient gate (building) only preserved from the Daoguang years; due to natural disasters such as rainwater erosion, sunshine exposure and natural decency, and human factors, columns on the building are cracked, and the roof is leaked with water. The repaired "Chaozong Building" will be opened to the public from October 1st.
