Jingzhou, the geometric center of China, is located in the heart of the beautiful and affluent Jianghan Plain with vast fertile land and waters. The city, covering an area of 14,100 k㎡, has two districts (Jingzhou and Shashi), three counties (Jiangling, Gong'an and Jianli), and three county-level cities (Songzi, Shishou and Honghu). The total population is 6,400,000. The central urban area is 59 k㎡, with a population of 750,000. Jingzhou, among the first group of 24 National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities, is a national outstanding tourist city. It's also an important port in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, a central city in south-central Hubei Province, and an important industrial production base in central China.

 

Jingzhou District

Jingzhou District is located in south-central Hubei Province. It has an area of 1,046 k㎡ and a population of 572,052 (yearend est.). The district is composed of three sub-districts, seven towns and a provincial economic development zone (Jingzhou Chengnan Economic Development Zone, Hubei Province). There are 36 neighborhood councils and 119 village committees. District People's Government is stationed at No. 80, Jingzhou Central Road, Jingzhou. The Post Code is 434020. The administrative division code is 421003. .

 

Shashi District

Shashi District lies in south-central Hubei Province. It has an area of 469 k㎡ and a population of 540,633). It is composed of five sub-districts, three towns and three townships. There are 87 neighborhood councils and 91 village committees. District People's Government is stationed at Cultural Palace Road, Jingzhou. The Post Code is 434000. The administrative division code is 421002.

 

Jiangling County

Jiangling County lies in south-central Hubei Province. Located to the north of Jingjiang Reach of the Yangtze River, the saddle-shaped county is in the heart of Jianghan Plain. With the east-west distance of 53.5 km and the north-south extent of 36.2 km, the area covers an area of 1,032 k㎡ square kilometers. Pop.nd has a population of  373, 027. (yearend est.) It consists of seven towns and two townships, including 13 neighborhood councils and 203 village committees.  Province-governing Jiangbei Prison and two farms of Sanhu and Liuheyuan are in the county. County People's Government is stationed at Haoxue Town. The post code is 434101, and the administrative  division code is 421024.

 

Gongan County

Gongan County in south-central Hubei Province lies at the south bank of the Yangtze River. To the south are Anxiang County and Lixian County of Hunan Province. With the north-south distance of 75 km and the east-west extent of 51 km, it has a total area of 2,257.5 k㎡ and the population is 1,026,895. It governs 14 towns, two townships and a provincial economic development zone (Gongan Economic Development Zone, Hubei Province), including 60 neighborhood councils and 326 village committees.  The County People's Government is stationed at Douhudi Town. The post code is 434300, and the administrative division code, 421022.

 

 

.Songzi City

Songzi City is located in south Hubei Province and at the south bank of the Yangtze River. To the south are Shimen County and Lixian County of Hunan Province. It has a total area of 2,235 k㎡ and a yearend estimated population of 869,327. It governs 14 towns, two townships and a provincial economic development zone (Songzi Economic Development Zone, Hubei Province), including 31 neighborhood councils and 243 village committees.  Municipal People's Government is stationed at Xinjiangkou Town. The post code is 434200, and the administrative division code, 421087.

 

Shishou City

Shishou City is located in south Hubei Province, bordering Nanxian, Anxiang and Huarong County of Hunan province to the south, Jianli County to the east and Gongan County to the west. It has a total area of 1,427 k㎡ and a yearend estimated population of 614,106. It governs two sub-districts, eleven towns, a township and a provincial economic development zone (Shishou Economic Development Zone, Hubei Province), including 29 neighborhood councils and 274 village committees.  The Municipal People's Government is stationed at Xiulin Sub-District. The post code is 434400, and the administrative division code, 421081.

 

Jianli County

Jianli County is located in south Hubei Province and at the north bank of the Yangtze River, across which are Yueyang and Huarong County of Hunan province. It has an area of 3,118 k㎡ and the population is 1,026,895. It governs 18 towns, three townships and a provincial economic development zone (Jianli Economic Development Zone, Hubei Province), including 65 neighborhood councils and 767 village committees.  County People's Government is stationed at Rongcheng Town. The post code is 433300, and the aministrative division code is 421023.

 

Honghu City

Honghu City, located in south Hubei Province, is between the Dongjing River and the Yangtze River, across which is Linxiang County of Hunan Province to the southwest.  It has an area of 2,519 k㎡ and a yearend estimated population of 897,186. It governs two sub-districts, 14 towns, a township and two provincial economic development zone (Honghu Economic Development Zone, Hubei Province and Fuchang Economic Development Zone, Honghu City), including 40 neighborhood councils and 448 village committees.  Municipal People's Government is stationed at Xindi Sub-District. The post code is 433200, and administrative division code: 421083.

 

Jingzhou Economic Development Zone

Jingzhou Economic Development Zone (commonly abbreviated as Jingzhou EDZ), including Jingzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Parks, came into being in 1992. It has a population of over 100,000 and an area of about 60 k㎡. Jingzhou EDZ is an important hi-tech industrial base in Hubei Province, with a National High-Tech Innovation Service Center. In the EDZ, leading industry has taken shape with increasing innovative capacity. Initially developed is a group of special industries of electricity, fine chemicals, biological medicine, textiles printing and dyeing, deep processing of agricultural and sideline products, etc. Jingzhou EDZ, a major platform for the opening up and development of Jingzhou, a main battlefield of implementing the strategy of “Developing Industries to Prosper the City”, the locomotive for economic development, has become the core zone of the city's industries.
