Since November, 2010 when the Hubei Provincial People’s Government approved the establishment of the Haizi Lake Ecological and Cultural Tourism Area, the development of the Area has achieved further progress recently. An cooperation agreement has been signed by Jingzhou Municipal Government, Xi’an Qujiang Cultural Industry Investment (Group) Co., Ltd and China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd.

According to the agreement, Haizi Lake Investment Co., Ltd will be co-established by the three Parties for the investment, financing, construction, sponsorship and operation of the Tourism Area. The Company will follow the “government-led and market-oriented operation” mode by giving full play to each Party’s advantages. To be specific, Jingzhou enjoys profound Chu Culture and rich national resources; Xi’an Qujiang Cultural Industry Investment Group has its advantages in project planning, management, financing and resource integration; and China Construction Third Engineering Bureau has its strength in technology, management and capital. The construction of the Tourism Area and major venues is expected to be completed and open to the public by the end of 2016.

The Haizi Lake Tourism Area, covering an area of 136 k㎡, is located to the north of downtown Jingzhou, which will serve as the core demonstration area in Jingzhou for the national heritage protection project. The Parties are all influential in China: Xi’an Qujiang Cultural Industry Investment Group has played an important role in building many renowned cultural tourism areas such as the Daming Palace and the Tang Paradise, and China Construction Third Engineering Bureau is among the Fortune 500 companies. Therefore, the cooperation on the Tourism Area of the three Parties can fully integrate their strength in resources, talents, capital and industries.
