Mr. Vlad Lipschutz, the Consul General of the United States in Wuhan, accompanied by Mrs.Zhang Xiaomei, the Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs (Overseas Chinese Affairs) Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, visited Jingzhou on December 31st.Consul General Vlad Lipschutz visited Sanonda Group Company and watched the presentation firstly. Mr.Li Zuorong, the Chairman of Sanonda Group made a brief introduction of company. He said the Sanonda Company had exported pesticide chemical productions for about 270 million US dollars in the year of 2013, among which more than 20 million US dollars’ productions were exported to America, and their major cooperative partner in United States is DUPONT. The company hopes to enhance the cooperation with related American company and increase the exports through this visit of Consul General Vlad Lipschutz.
During this time, Mr. Li Xinhua, Secretary General of Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee, met with the Consul General Vlad Lipschutz and warmly welcomed the delegation, and then introduced the basic information and development prospects of Jingzhou. Li Xinhua said, it is legendary that Dayu divided the ancient China into nine states after control the flood, and Jingzhou has been existed since then. As we know, Jingzhou has a splendid Chu culture and Three Kingdoms’ culture, and is enlisted to the first batch of National Historical and Cutural City. Besides that, Jingzhou is a big agricultural city, especially the production of Jingzhou’s aquatic products ranking the first place of China for years. In terms of industry development, Jingzhou has already formed some pillar industries such as equipment manufacturing, chemical industry, electronic information industry, textile and agriculture products processing and so on. Owing the golden waterway of Yangtz River, Jingzhou has a great potential for developing export-oriented economy, hoping the Consulate General of the United States in Wuhan can serve as the bridge to facilitate the bilateral exchange and cooperation, and enhance friendly relations. Consul General Vlad Lipschutz showed that it was his first time to visit Jingzhou, and he had a basic knowledge of Jingzhou history before, knew that many American enterprises had already invested in Jingzhou. The purpose of this visit is to further learn about the development of Jingzhou, so as to identify in what fields American companies can invest in Jingzhou. He will introduce Jingzhou to American enterprises after returning home, and broaden the cooperation of both sides in the field of culture, education and economy.
Consul General Vlad Lipschutz also visited Yangtz University this time, and met with Mr.Zhang Changming, the President of Yangtz University. In addition, Consul General had a one-hour interactive communication with students of English majors from Yangtz University, he learnt about the student’s knowledge rate of American culture, and shared his own experience of language learning. His humorous speech won the continuous applause from students, and at last, this visit finished in laughter and happiness. Mr.Liu Zhilong, the Director of Jingzhou Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs, accompanied throughout this visit.
