Last year, the market grain prices remained low, the city implemented the minimum purchasing prices policy to purchase main varieties of grain and oil (wheat, rapeseed, early season rice, medium and later season rice), which effectively protected the interests of the farmers.

In 2013, the city added all kinds of main varieties of grain into the statistic scope by 2.42 billion kilograms, and completed 151% of the target plan, which is 530 million kg more than the previous year, an increase of 28%, and created a grain purchase volume record. Among them, purchased food 428 million kilograms, 504000 tons of rapeseed according to the minimum purchase price；Purchased 439000 tons of rapeseed at temporary reserve price; the above purchases by preliminary estimation promote the farmers' income by 574 million Yuan.

Processing Production and Sales of Grain and Oil Food Both Reached an All-time High of $40 Billion

It is understood that the grain and oil food production of the city enterprise above designated size reached 6.55 million tons, and realized processing output value of 47.6 billion Yuan, with 26% year on year growth, and sales income is 44.9 billion Yuan, with 24% year on year growth; grain and oil food processing production and sales both reached an all-time high of 40 billion yuan.

Ensure Food Supply and Promote the "Rest Assured Grain and Oil" Project

Last year, the Food Department constantly enriched policy food stocks, and carried out the reserve grain rotation as properly, which resulting in that grain and oil supply in market is abundant, and the needs of the military and the public are secured.

While securing the quantity safety, the Food Department paid more attentions to the "safety on the tip of the tongue" of the civilians. Last year, the city built one regional processed grain and oil products wholesale market, 4 rest assured grain and oil distribution centers, 37 rest assured grain and oil chain stores, which is a solid step in the safety security of grain, oils and food. The city has five "rest assured grain and oil" demonstration enterprises at or above the provincial level newly added to the current number, and the total number has reached 14.
