The first event (adult class) of the 14th Hubei Provincial Games on the topic of “National Fitness” - Rouliqiu game (staff class) kicked off at 8:30 on April 13th at Yangtze University east campus stadium and comprehensive training hall. Rouliqiu project is divided into three aspects---compulsory routines, optional routines and athletic competition.

As the first match of Provincial Games, 20 delegations will participate in Rouliqiu event in four days of competition, and a total of 20 gold medals will be produced, 8 of which will be the targets of Jingzhou delegation. The first game is pre-final of Class A individual freestyle routine. Players from Jingzhou, Wuhan, Xiaogan and Xiangyang will be involved in the fierce competition. Wang Jinfeng wins the championship with strong competitiveness in individual freestyle routine competition after fierce competition, clinching the first gold medal of the Games for Jinzhou delegation. Zhou Guiping, from Xiaogan and Geng Pengfei, from Wuhan come in 2nd and 3rd place. Wang Shouwei, Vice Mayor of Jingzhou City, presented awards for winners.

It is learned that the 14th Hubei Provincial Games has large scale, many programs and long schedule. The competition, therefore, is divided into decentralized and centralized phases. The former phase starts from April this year to the end of September, and a total of 35 major items will be conducted, involving 3500 to 4000 athletes; while the latter phase will start from October 1st to 13th, when the closing ceremony takes place, and a total of 11 main items will be conducted, involving a total of 7500 to 8000 athletes participating in the competition.
