West Inner Mongolia to Central China Railway Coal Transportation Corridor Project ( referred to as "Inner Mongolia and Central China Railway" ) originates from Haolebaoji Station of Inner Mongolia, via Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and other provinces, ending in Ji'an, Jiangxi Province. The 1837 km long project costs about 159.8 billion Yuan.

Inner Mongolia and Central China Railway has a total length of 185.953 km within Hubei Province. According to the plan, Jinzhou East Station will be set up at Cenhe farm in Jingzhou Development Zone, Jianglin Station at Majiazhai Village of Jianglin, Gong'an Station at Yangchang Town of Gongan County, Ouchi station at Ouchi Town and Shishou Station at south of Shishou City. The controlled project, Jingzhou Yangtze River railway and highway combined bridge of " coal transportation from north to south " large channel within Jingzhou enters into construction phase for main bridge from May, 2013 and is expected to be completed in 2016.

The Railway could transfer coals in “Golden triangle” area covering Shanxi, Gansu and Ningxia Province, via land route, to Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi province and other central China areas. Also it can be connected with inland rivers to form multimodal efficient ways between railway and waterway, railway and highway. Major trunk lines should be linked to increase flexibility of road network. Meanwhile, it offers a newly convenient transportation corridor of both passengers and cargos in Hubei and Hunan province, which improves the layout of the railway network and forms an intensive and high efficient coal transportation system. The section between Sanmenxia and Ji'an, connected with the Jianghan Plain and Dongting Lake Plain, is of great significance to promote tourism resources along the line and revitalize the local economic development.
