Jingzhou plans to invest 2 million yuan to build 11 wetland parks, ensure that 80% of the 230,000 hectares of natural wetland will be effectively protected. The overall planning of 3 wetland parks will be finished in early May, which is located around the Ancient Jingzhou City, North lake of Jingzhou District, Chonghu of Gong’an County, and the overall planning of other 6 provincial wetland parks will be finished recently.
Jingzhou is a city rich in wetland resources and has about 600,000 hectares of natural and constructed wetlands, in which 230,000 hectares of natural wetland and 370,000 constructed wetland, accounting to 38.4% of 1,563,000 hectares of the province’s wetland area. The survey data shows there are totally 39 wetland parks in Hubei, but Jingzhou has only one. Jingzhou will build another three wetland parks this year, which is located around Jingzhou Ancient City, North lake of Jingzhou District, Chong Lake of Gong’an County this year.
