Currently, Jingzhou Ancient City Wetland Park, combined with human landscape and natural landscape, is officially enlisted to the National Pilot Wetland Park, which becomes the one pilot park in three national wetland parks in Jingzhou.
Around-Jingzhou Ancient City Wetland Park embraces with three rivers: Moat River, Taihu Harbour River and Jingxiang River, and the mainly landscape is Nine dragons deep, ancient city wall, moon bay wetland and the wetland view of two rivers and 4 banks around north city to west gate, and Jingxiang River Wetland view. The water basin refers to Jingzhou District, Shashi District, central China Agricultural High-tech Developing Zone and Jinan Ecological Cultural Tourist Area, 11 villages and a farm, covering the total area of 450.47 hectares.
The Cong Lake Wetland Park in Gong’an County and Weishui National Wetland Park in Songzi City also included in the pilot national wetland parks, and the latter was included in the year of 2013.
