On October 15, 1957, Wuhan Yangtze River was opened to traffic, which became the first bridge of Yangtze River. Sixty years later, there are already more than thirty bridges over this river in Hubei Province, and some of them are under construction. Hubei, has owned its reputation of “City of Bridge Construction in China” and “Bridge Museum in China”.
In the recent five years, Hubei has been constructing the largest quantity of bridges in history. Girder bridge, arch bridge, cable-stayed bridge, suspension bridge, etc. are standing over Yangtze River, just like a dreamy rainbow; and the bridges labeling “Made by Hubei” is stretching to the world, which make “Chinese Bridge” an outstanding identity card and an important symbol of the comprehensive power of this country.
Where there is water, there is a bridge, and where there is a bridge, there is a scenery. A bridge can create a great significance on the traffic, economy, culture and the unity of the people there. The Chinese roads and bridges, the magnificent and beautiful works, are leading the power for the great nation to create more and more miracles.
