Consultation of the Design Programme of King Chu Palace Scenic Area Project

At present, the concept design programme of King Chu Palace Scenic Area Project has already been completed. In order to make this programme be more scientific and reasonable, this district has decided to seek public opinions and suggestions from the whole society during November 15th to 20th.

 

King Chu Palace Scenic Area Project, a large-scale cultural theme park that has comprehensively displayed the prosperity of Chu State, is located at 5 km away from the northern Jinzhou Ancient city and the core area of Ji’nan Ecologic Cultural Tourism Area. It covers an overall area of 4.33 square kilometers, including a land area of 2.43 square kilometers and a water area of 1.9 square kilometers. Its building area is about 170 thousand square meters and the highest point of King Chu Palace reaches 49.9m. With the 411-year history background since Chu people set up their capital city in Ji’nan, the project will focus on the urban style and features, historic stories, natural scenery, and historic figures of Chu State at that age.

 

This project highlights the historic buildings and garden landscapes represented by  King Chu Palace in planning to re-show the unique glory of buildings in Chu Dynasty and demonstrate the superb achievements and historic styles of Chu culture which is even to rival to the civilization of ancient Greek. By facilitating advanced tourism service facilities, it will set up a historic culture theme park with good comprehensive benefit of society, economy, and ecology. 

 

This project consists of six scenic spots: service landscape area, located at the side of Chudu Avenue, will layout the external service facilities to avoid the crossing of inside and outside streams and be good for operation and management; scenic spots from northern to southern are: Ancient City Wall, Water-land City Gate, Distribution Square, Yangyun Stand, Ying City, Lan Stand, and Fangxin Garden. The core scenic spot, located at the center of the main land, adopts the axis arrangement of standing northern and facing southern, three halls and five gates, civil official at the right and military officers at the left, and ancestor temple at the right and Altar of Land and Grain at the left; scenic spots from southern to northern are: Fengque Gate, External-Facing Square, Fengxiang Gate, Yinghou Zone, Taiwei Gate, Zhichao Square, Liyuan Gate, Zhengyuan Gate, Yan Dynasty, and Jingyuan Gate. Mountain Jin Scenic Spot, located at the north side of the core scenic spot, and the natural hills and wetlands in planning symbolize Yun-meng Lakes and Mountain Jin; in regards to landscape, it has formed a complete system of water surrounding mountains; in regards to visiting and appreciation, it has increased the richness of landscape and space; its main scenic spots include Mengze Garden, Tianwen Hall, and Statue Garden. Binshui Scenic Spot, located at the side of main land Linchang Lake to display the series scenic spots of Chu State, including Zhu Palace, Bo House, Xiangcao Garden, “Knowing Fish” and “Knowing Music”. Water Landscape Scenic Spot, a lot of small islands at the surface of Chang Lake, makes Chang Lake look wider with richer contents of landscape; scenic spots include Huaiying Island, and Jian Stand. The Coastline Landscape Belt, located at the southwestern line of Chang Lake and corresponding core scenic spot with suitable spot and landscape facilities and connecting with the tour activities with Great Relics of Ji’nan City, has formed a completed landscape pattern; scenic spots include Wangyingxuan Wharf and Taohuawu Wharf .

 

Once completed, the project predicts to accommodate 3 million visitors in 2030, which will inject new vitality to the sustainable development of the tourism economy of Jinzhou city.
