Reporters have learned that, Jingzhou National Agricultural Science Park has passed the acceptance test by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and the formal awarding will be officially given soon. The Ministry of Science and Technology has launched the construction of the fifth group of national agricultural science parks since 2013. According to Administrative Measures on National Agricultural Science Parks during the 12^th Five-Year Plan, the Ministry of Science and Technology has conducted acceptance tests recently. After the evaluation process such as field acceptance and video defense, 45 parks have passed the acceptance by the approval of leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology. Jingzhou National Agricultural Science Park is one of the two national agricultural science parks that have gotten through the acceptance test in Hubei Province.

According to the arrangement of “one park with several sections”, Jingzhou National Agricultural Science Park is divided into Core Section, Demonstration Section, and Radiation Section. Being as the Core Section, Jingzhou High-tech Zone, located within Taihu Farm Management Area covering an area of 67.33 square kilometers, will set up nine functional areas such as comprehensive service area, refined processing area of subsidiary agricultural products, biological agricultural industrial park, agricultural scientific achievement transformation industrial park, and agricultural hi-tech industrial incubation park. The Demonstration Section, located outside Taihu Farm and covering Jingzhou and Jianghan Plain, will set up a featured large-scale agricultural product manufacturing demonstration area featuring standardization, modernization, and non-pollution. The Radiation Section mainly includes the surrounding cities of Jingzhou and surrounding provinces of Hubei Province.

According to the requirements made by the Ministry of Science and Technology, scientific administrative departments at all levels should attach much importance to the construction of the science park, and further intensify the support to optimize the management service, do well in supervision and assessment, and thus comprehensively improve the construction level of science parks. All parks are expected to be further optimized to highlight their dominating featured industries, conclude experience modes, give full play to the exemplary and motivating role, improve their own competitiveness in terms of agricultural industry, and thus build into modern agricultural innovation highlands, talent highlands as well as industrial highlands.
