Only peony is the true national flower and when it blooms, the whole Jingzhou City will be filled with its fragrance. With the opening of the First Jinzghou Peony Flower Exhibition 2018 held in Guanggongyi Park on April5th, 60,000 peonies transported from Luoyang finally welcomed their full-blossom period owing to the blue sky and good weather after one-week wind and rain.

On the morning of April 15th,the weather was fine. It was seen by reporter in Guanggongyi Park that, citizens came to appreciate peony in an endless stream while there were intoxicating peonies in red, coldin white, graceful in purple, and elegant in light pink. After heavy wind and rain, many of the graceful peonies seemed more confident and strong. In the park, workers were busy to unload a new batch of peonies with beautiful flowers which were transported from Luyang just now.

“Daojin”， a variety of peony, owns double colors in one flower andsometimes, it will blossom in original sun red, which could be called as the classic of peony. The Cistanche nearby with more colorful flower is also very brilliant.

Peony is honored as the king of flowers.This exhibition introduced more than 20 varieties involving 60,000 peonies,such as Daojin, Cistanche, Liukui, Huhong, and Fenzhongguan. Different varieties have different blossom period. In order to meet the appreciation demands of citizens, the exhibition would regularly introduce a new group of peonies. Moreover, owing to the good weather in recent days, a large number of visitorswere attracted to appreciate the peonies. Many visitors and photographersrecorded the beauty of peony. Citizens could appreciate the charm of “nationalbeauty and heavenly fragrance” just in the city.

These two days, due to the continuously rising of temperature, a lot of people felt like in summer already and the late-bloompeonies also blossom. It was introduced by head of the organizer that, at present, some rare species, such as Erqiao, Black Peony, and Baixueta, hadalready blossomed while the mysterious and adorable Luxiuqiu, Doulu, andYaohuang had been about to blossom.
