No matter whether it is summer or winter, citizens in Jingzhou would like to have a walk in Jingzhou Landscape Belt along the Jingjiang Dike in the urban area of Jingzhou. There are landscapes from west to east such as Linjiangxian Park,Wanshou Park, Jingjiang Park, Wangjiang Park, Overseas Trade Wharf, and WenxingGarden. With green trees and brilliant sceneries at every turn, it is a good place for citizens to have rest and entertainment and enjoy the river view. Itis hard to imagine that these places were full of garbage collection, aggregate handling docks, and illegal markets in a few years ago.

Since 2010, Jingzhou has intensified the comprehensive rectification, carried out the reconstruction of shanty town, blocked off sewage draining exits, prohibited grazing on river beaches, and planted green trees. In this way, Jingjiang Dike takes great changes day by day. Today, let’s have a look at the reconstruction progress and achievements made in the shanty town in Jingjiang Dike.

It can be seen from the previous pictures and files that there were high and low houses which were built at random along the Yangtze River once and each house was impenetrable with wet environment and a large number of bugs and creeping things resulting in great potential safety problems.

In accordance with the principle of “ecology priority, culture carrying, publicservice, and ensuring the safety of Jingjiang Dike”, Jingzhou gives full play to the water form of Yangtze River in demolishing a house area of 273,300 square meters by combing the reconstruction of riverside shantytown. Moreover, it takes the opportunity of engineering construction to raise a fund of more than RMB 2 billion to rectify the river beach and set up the ten-mile gallery along the Jingjiang River and beautiful Linjiangxian Park,which have become great places for citizens to have entertainment. At present,Jingjiang Dike comprehensive rehabilitation project has already entered into the final part of the second phase.

The shanty town area of the second phase of Jingjiang Dike comprehensive rehabilitation project:starts from Baota Bay at the west to Liulinzhou at the east with a full length of 2 km, involving five sub-district offices along Jingjiang Dike namely the Congwen,Jiefang, Zhongshan, Shengli, and Zhaoyang, covering 1,050 families and 57 companies. At present,the relocation rate has surpassed 90% and entered into the ending stage.
