During the period of the “12th Five-Year Plan”, Jingzhouhighway departments had already completed 5 first-class highways through wellplan, construction, and supervision, namely Jingzhou-Songzi First-classHighway, Songzi (Yaquanpu)-Chenyang River First-class Highway, Gong’an (DouhuDike)-Jingdong First-class Highway, Shishou (Jinyingdang)-Xiulin PortFirst-class Highway, and Honghu-Shansha First-class Highway. The completion andoperation of a large number of first-class highways not only advance thestructure of Jingzhou’s road network and improves the traffic capacity, butalso play a positive role in promoting the local economic and socialdevelopment.

According toinformation, it is estimated that, during the whole period of the “13th Five-Year Plan”, the first-class highway in Jingzhou will amounted to286 km, including 4 ones which are under construction or about to beconstructed in 2018, namely the Qingshi-Haoxue First-class Highway of 351National Road, Songzi -Weishui First-class Highway (from Songzi urban area toWeishui Reservoir), Sugang Highway (from Zhus’ Bay Port of Gong’an County to YangchangRailway Station), and Shishou (Meijiazui)-Gaoji Temple First-class Highway of234 National Road. At the same time, it also promotes the expansion engineeringof Bu River-Nanping Highway, the reconstruction engineering of theZaolin-Yingcheng of 207 National Road, and the expansion engineering of 428Provincial Road (from Zhus’ Ridge of Jingzhou District to Libu). The completionof one highway after another will definitely bring boundless opportunities tothe full-range tourism and rural revitalization to Jingzhou as well as to addpowerful driven forces to the development of Jingzhou’s economy and society.
