On August 17, the Second Hubei(Jingzhou) Horticulture Exposition Preparatory Meeting was held in Jingzhou. WanYong, Vice Governor of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He requested, all relevant departments should intensify the sense of responsibility and make solid efforts to endow this year’s Horticulture Exposition with great influence, distinctive features, and fruitful achievements under the theme of “Splendid Jingchu, Ecological Garden”. Li Changhai, Directorof Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hubei Province, He Guangzhong, Secretary of Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee, Cui Yonghui, Mayor of Jingzhou, Duan Changlin, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of Jingzhou Municipal Committee, Fu Zhifeng, Vice Mayor of Jingzhou Government, Chen Bin, Secretary General of Jingzhou Government, attended relevant activities.

Wan Yong emphasized that, the Second Horticulture Exposition is a grand event organized by Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government in the spirit delivered in an important speech of President Xi Jinping on his visit to Hubei and against the backdrop of accelerating Hubei’s ecological civilization construction.Therefore, it requires high-quality planning with accurate positioning and precise operation to demonstrate the brilliant Jingchu Culture and let the voice of Jingchu heard. It requires high-standard construction with brand new planning and design, optimized plantings and qualified projects to hold a unique and exemplary exposition. It also requires efficient promotion, and a synergy is created with the organizing committee strengthening its organization and coordination, the host city making good preparation, all cities and districts of the province exhibiting actively, and provincial departments enhancing their guidance. It requires high efficiency in the exhibition organization. With horticulture as the underlying theme, trade and commerce will be promoted. Through innovative approaches of inviting exhibitors, this Horticulture Exposition will accelerate the urban construction and adopt economical principle inorganizing the event to promote the development of Jingzhou to a higher level. High-quality publicity will also be carried out with promotion made via newspaper, radio and television, especially internet new media, to expand its social influence and create a sound public opinion which paves the way for the success of the exposition.

Cui Yonghui said when reporting the preparation work of the exposition that, all personnel should focus on the preparation with concentrated and solid efforts to fulfill this glory and arduous task. In detailed preparation work, all should check the task list tostrictly control the timeline, scientifically design the time schedule and drawa detailed plan to follow up. A problem-orientated method should be adopted to comprehensively understand the main issues in the preparation work, list the problems and assign them to detailed personnel within limited day to solve these problems one by one. Overall coordination should be maintained, with the guiding ideology of “A Game of Chess”. All personnel shall stay committed to strengthening the interconnection between cities and districts to mobilize forces and resources extensively and enhance all preparation work as a whole.

Attendees also paid an inspection tour to the Planning and Demonstration Hall of Jingzhou Ji’nan Ecological Culture and Tourism Area and main venue of the Horticulture Exposition.
