The opening ceremony of 15th Hubei ProvinceSports Meeting is due to open at 20:00 PM on October 8th at HuangshiOlympic Games Center. On the afternoon of October 7th, athletes fromJingzhou registered at the site successively.

Hubei Province Sports Meeting is hosted every four yearsand it has already seen 14 sessions since 1952. Its last session was hosted inJingzhou. This year, the sports meeting is hosted by Hubei Provincial People’sGovernment and co-organized by Hubei Bureau of Sports, Huangshi MunicipalPeople’s Government, and Hubei Provincial Party Committee PropagandaDepartment. It will be closed on October 14th.

It is said that, there are 12 new items for this session,covering farmers, national minority, the disabled, staff, public securitydepartment, and universities. It has 77 large competition items with 1,307small ones. Among them, 22 large competition items with 569 small ones arerelated to teenagers while eight groups with 55 large competition items of 738small ones are related to the public.

This year, Jingzhou sports will see the participation of990 athletes, 473 teenagers of whom will participate in 17 competition items.During the intensive competition from October 8th to 14th,nearly 200 athletes from Jingzhou will take part in eight items including U13men’ football, women’s basketball, swimming, track and field, gymnastics,farmers’ dragon dance, staff’s line dance, and the disabled’ table tennis. Onthe morning of today, all athletes arrived at the site and completed theregistration.
