Acquiring-wealth Train of Crayfishes Launching for RussiaPromoting the Upgrading of Jingzhou’s Crayfish Industry

At the China’s Three Rural Issuesof Intelligence held in Beijing on August 10th this year, “Jingzhoumode of lifting poor people out of poverty via crayfish industry” achieved thespecial award, becoming the model case of poverty alleviation via industry. Itwas known by reporter that, 1,936 new-type businesses have participated in thepoverty alleviation of crayfish industry to lift 265 poor villages and 8,793poor families out of poverty.

This summer, 100,000 crayfishesin Jingzhou were transported to Russia via China-Europe Express Train tosatisfy the appetite of foreign people, and “beer plus crayfishes” has becomethe standard dish during the period of the World Cup 2018. Chinese footballdidn’t enter in the group stage, but Jingzhou’s crayfishes went out, which hasattracted great attention. For a moment, Jingzhou’s crayfishes built up a newgiant wave in the market.

In recent several years, JingzhouDistrict has cultivated a batch of processing brand companies, featuredcatering brands, and fresh product brands in terms of crayfishes. However, dueto the lack of endorsement from public brands, there is still a certain gapbetween it and Qianjiang. To make Jingzhou’s crayfish more famous will expandthe influence of its companies fast, but more provide strong and powerfulsupport for its crayfish brands. After the World Cup 2018, “Weihaoyuan” FoodCompany which processed the 100,000 crayfishes gets multiplying orders andother local brands in Jingzhou also obtain various degrees of growth.Meanwhile, Jingzhou’s crayfish brand appear at all kinds of exchange fairs andexhibition at home and abroad, which makes more people know about it, and thus,it gains a large number of orders and intention customers.

It is said that, in 2017, theoutput of crayfishes in Jingzhou amounted to 290,000 tons, ranking the first inChina while its culture area reached 2.7 million mu. According to preliminary estimates, in 2018, its culture areawill expand around one fifth and its output will be further increased. Thisyear, Jingzhou Government forwarded that, by 2020, it will achieve thedevelopment goal of “4561” in crayfish industry, i.e. culture area covering 4million mu; annual crayfish output of500,000 tons; comprehensive output reaching RMB 60 billion; farmers’ incomeincreasing more than RMB 10 billion, and fiscal support to be given.

As Jingzhou’s crayfish brands wereintroduced abroad, more and more social capitals emerge in the market to driventhe integration among the primary industry, the secondary industry, and thetertiary industry. Its land value has been promoted while poor families get higherincome from different sources such as land transfer, pooling of land share, andlabor wages. In villages where the crayfish industry develops relatively fast,the expected earning of each mu landwill reach RMB 4,000 to RMB 5,000.

Relevant qualified resourcesincluding internet of thing, financing, insurance, logistics, qualityinspection, and sourcing are also integrated into this to provide supportingservices for farmers. It also invites experts to perform technical guidance soas to improve the quality of Jingzhou’s crayfishes and upgrade the wholecrayfish industry chain.
