Tocelebrate the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up, the Overseas Chinese Federation in Binhu Community of Chongwen Street in Shashi District recently held a special symposium.
In the meeting room of the Overseas Chinese Federation in Binhu Community of Chongwen Street, 43 members of the Overseas Chinese Federation gathered together, shared their photos and their stories abroad.
The72-year-old Tang Liangfa is a member of the Overseas Chinese Federation. He just returned from a family visit in New Zealand in November.
Tang Liangfa’s daughter graduated in New Zealand with a master’s degree and stayed there after graduation. She is now working and living in New Zealand. Tang Liangfa misses his family, and he lives abroad for two or three months every year. Over the years, he has traveled between the two countries and felt the dramatic development of the motherland.
Except for the popularity of Chinese characters, Tang Liangfa also saw Chinese people from all walks of life in New Zealand.
Eventhough his family is living overseas, Tang Liangfa felt deeply attached to his hometown and decided to spend his late years there. When he got home, he foundthat the city of Jingzhou has changed dramatically, and its citizens have alsobecome more civilized.
Sincethe establishment of Overseas Chinese Federation in Binhu Community of ChongwenStreet in Shashi District in June 2017, it has developed extensive contactswith overseas Chinese families and overseas Chinese relatives, set up a communicationplatform between the community and overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese, helda number of activities, and deepened the emotional ties of the families andrelatives of overseas Chinese.
