Poverty alleviation is built on the ambition and education level of people living inpoverty. In the recent years, a strong social trend of honoring povertyalleviation has been developed in Ji’nan Cultural Tourism Area, with Moral CultureWorkshop as the breakthrough and through actions of enhancing ambition,developing culture and promoting civilization.

As adeveloping new area, Ji’nan Cultural Tourism Area has over 11,000 relocated households.Some of them wasted the sudden wealth from relocation and showed signs of returningto poverty. Poverty-stricken families further deepen the thought of waitingfor, depending on, and asking the government to lift them out of poverty andprovide them with a better living. For this reason, the Ji’nan Cultural TourismArea adheres to the concept of strengthening ambition before povertyalleviation and establishes the groundbreaking Culture Workshop with thesupport of municipal Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

A forum onmoral culture begins in Xinqiao Village, Ji’nan Town in Ji’nan Cultural TourismArea, on which excellent moral culture volunteers from Liaoning was offeringfocused training to villagers to strengthen their ambition throughunderstanding the outstanding traditional Chinese culture.

The Culture Workshopprovides both motivation and new methods of poverty alleviation. Jingzhou has arelatively abundant and distinctive culture of intangible heritage which is undoubtedlythe important resource of poverty alleviation. For this purpose, the Culture Workshopof Ji’nan Cultural Tourism Area introduces traditional cultural projects suchas intangible heritage, successively invites Li Nanbao, representative inheritorof Jingzhou intangible cultural heritage project of shaddock peel kneading moldand Zhang Chuanzhi, Jingzhou meticulous painting master and establishes the voluntaryheritage team of shaddock peel kneading mold and training class of meticulouspainting to develop original tourist souvenirs for Ji’nan Cultural TourismArea.

There are478 poverty-stricken households and 1,388 poverty-stricken people in Ji’nanCultural Tourism Area. Until now, the Culture Workshop has organized over 10moral forums in 8 villages in the area and over 100 invalid poverty-strickenpersons who cannot go outside to work have started to learn skills of the intangiblecultural heritage, and further enhanced the confidence of poverty-strickenhouseholds by switching their awareness from “I want to be rich” to “I can berich”.
