A listof people whose good deeds moved the Jingzhou people in 2018 has been announcedat the conclusion of the “Cenchun Textile Enterprises City Cup” competition,which lasted over 4 months. On the evening of February 19, the OrganizingCommittee of this competition held a grand award ceremony at the broadcasting hallof Jingzhou TV Station.

Wang Mei, commissioner incharge of organizational work for Baimasi Town, Jiangling County, and 11 otherindividuals and collectives were awarded the honorary title, literally, the“Person (Group) Whose Good Deeds Touched the Jingzhou People in 2018.” Presentat the award ceremony were He Guangzhong, secretary of the Municipal PartyCommittee; Zhou Jing, director of the Standing Committee of the MunicipalPeople’s Congress, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee andsecretary of the Municipal Politics and Law Commission; Wang Shouwei, chairmanof the Municipal Political Consultative Conference; Wu Chaoan, Zeng Qingzhu,Zhong Zhiqing, Duan Changlin, Jiang Hong, Yuan Defang, Yang Shunhao, Sun Yuqiu,Lin Hong and other government officials. They presented the award to thewinners.

The 11 persons (groups) whose good deeds moved the Jingzhoupeople in 2018 are: Wang Mei, commissioner in charge of organizational work forBaimasi Town, Jiangling County, who helped the poor solve problems wholeheartedlyand did as much as she can to alleviate poverty; Bi Lixia, known as the “Queenof Grain,” who founded Jianli County Essential Rice Planting Cooperative todevelop modern agriculture and leads the villagers toward a well-off society;Yang Yong, a resident from Mishi Village, Mishi Town, Jingzhou District, who leadsone of his fellow villagers out of poverty with his disabled hands; SheRongchang, a taxi driver from Gong’an County, who returned lost money and epitomizedthe professional ethics; Zhou Yongjie, a teacher at Hongshi Primary School,Binhu Street, Honghu City, who perseveres in his determination to teachchildren with all his effort and sweat regardless of his own poverty; ZhaoShili, a nurse from the Endocrinology Department of Jingzhou Central Hospital,who spends her spare time imparting knowledge of health preservation toresidents; Xu Dan, a post-80s sanitation worker, who makes the city clean andbeautiful with her youth and sweat; Huang Xinxin, deputy director of TanqiaoTown Police Station of the Development Zone Branch of Jingzhou Public SecurityBureau, who saved people from danger regardless of his own safety; Qin Kexin, astudent of Babao Middle School in Songzi City, who donated his marrow to savemother and was awarded the title of “the most filial youth across the country;the acting group of Gong’an County, which performed the opera “Love Makes Homes”;the Voluntary Aid Promotion Association of Xinyuanzi Village, Nankou Town,Shishou City, which helps relieve poverty and gives back to the locals.
