Jingzhou'sYangtze River coastline measures more than 600 kilometers, accounting for 50percent of the total length of Hubei's Yangtze River coastline. In the greatprotection of the Yangtze River, Jingzhou has kept the trust in mind, and firmlyadvanced the closedown, renovation and relocation of riverside chemicalenterprises, to ensure that all riverside chemical enterprises in Jingzhou are"reset" by late 2020.

JingzhouJinbei Chemical Co., Ltd. is a producer of dissolved acetylene, industrialoxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen. In 2018, in response to Jingzhou's requirementsfor the closedown, renovation and relocation of riverside chemical enterpriseswithin 1 kilometer, the enterprise raised a fund of 50 million yuan andrelocated from Shashi District to Chemical Industry Park of Jingzhou Economicand Technological Development Zone.

Duringvisiting Hubei and investigating the Yangtze River in April 2018, GeneralSecretary Xi Jinping noted that "making joint efforts on environmentalprotection, and not resorting to major projects" is not giving up greatdevelopment, but setting a rule of ecology priority, driving industrial transformationand upgrading, and accomplishing high-quality development. In the new plantarea of Hubei Nenter Technology Co., Ltd. (Nenter), the company's rosuvastatinintermediate production line relocated to Chemical Industry Park of JingzhouEconomic and Technological Development Zone was operating at full load. Withprimary business revenues of nearly 1.2 billion yuan in 2018, Nenter is ahigh-tech enterprise engaged in the production, R&D and sales of medicalintermediates and fine chemicals, as well as the world's largest supplier of montelukastintermediate against asthma and allergen.

Nenter'smontelukast intermediate line is scheduled to be relocated to a new plant in2020, and the rest of the old plant area will be used for administrativepurpose.

Facingthe contradiction between economic development and environmental protection,Jingzhou has given top priority to environmental protection, sped up industrialtransformation and upgrading, resolutely eliminated backward productioncapacity, and steadily advanced the transformation of the economic mode and theadjustment of the economic structure. According to the Work Plan for the Closedown, Renovation and Relocation of Hubei'sRiverside Chemical Enterprises (part of the ten iconic projects for thegreat protection of the Yangtze River), Jingzhou needs to close down 76riverside chemical enterprises. 7 such enterprises were "reset" inlate 2018 and 60 have entered the substantial stage of "reset".According to Hubei's overall arrangement, Jingzhou will complete the closedown,renovation and relocation of riverside chemical enterprises within 1 kilometerbefore December 31, 2020.
