Hello, Jingjie Street! The Qingming Riverside Park in Jingzhou

The construction of the Jingjie Street project started today, which will become amasterpiece created by Jingzhou Tourism Investment and Development Group in thehope of enhancing the scenery and influence of ancient Jingzhou Ancient City asa historic and cultural tourist area. The street will be built into a “QingmingRiverside Park” and “Qinhuai Renjia” with the characteristics of Jingzhou. What’sso special about this street?

JingjieStreet covers a total land area of 20 hectares with a construction area of120,000 sq.m. It is planned that the construction work is divided into threephases. The first phase, which began today, absorbed a total investment of 300million yuan with a total construction area of 30,000 sq.m. The street lengthof the first phase will be about 600 m, adjoining Zhongxuan Bridge, whichconnects the Gong’an Gate of Jingzhou Ancient City with Guan’gong Park, thus leadingto various scenic spots inside and outside the city and forming a completetourist route.

TheJingjie Street project reflects Jingchu culture in the design of the commercialstreet. The main business of the project includes indigenous delicacies,cultural experiences, leisure & entertainment and courtyard accommodation,featuring commercial spaces with a profound sense of history and offering an opencultural experience and a leisurely atmosphere.

In2012, the Jingzhou Municipal People’s Government signed a strategic cooperationagreement with ECOTIC to establish Jingzhou Tourism Investment and DevelopmentGroup. Starting with Guan’gong Park, the Group has been committed to buildingJingzhou Ancient City into a 5A scenic area and promoting the high-qualitydevelopment of Jingzhou’s tourism over the past six years, opening a newchapter of Jingzhou’s cultural tourism. At present, the development of the culturaltourism industry is facing a rare strategic opportunity. The construction of JingjieStreet is another key project of the Jingzhou Ancient City Historic andCultural Tourist Area and another move initiated by ECOTIC after Guan’gong Parkto tell “a tale of two cities,” which will further enhance the quality of the ancientcity as a historic and cultural tourist.

2019will be the first boom year for Jingzhou’s tourism. Reporters learned at thepress conference on the promotion of the major projects and tourismperformances held by Jingzhou Tourism Investment and Development Group thatthis year the Group will focus on the cultural tourism industry starting fromGuan’gong Park, turn the park into a pilgrimage place, make the ancient city lookmore attractive and advance the construction of cultural tourism projects, suchas Jingjie Street, Longfeng Village and Jiulongyuan Theater, with the aim of boostingJingzhou’s cultural tourism industry and promoting the high-quality developmentof Jingzhou’s tourism.

ProjectDescription: The Jingjie Street project, starting from Guan’gong Park, is acultural tourism complex dedicated to Guan’gong culture. The total land area ofthe project is 20 hectares, with a total construction area of 120,000 sq.m. anda total investment of 1 billion yuan. The street adjoins the Guandi Temple andthe ancient South Gate in the west and connects to Guan’gong Park (where theworld’s largest bronze statue of Guan’gong is located) and Yangtze University (thehighest seat of learning in Jingzhou) in the east. It is adjacent to the bankof the river and opposite the ancient city wall across the river.

JingjieStreet, relying on its unique location, profound culture and special scenery,will become a characteristic “Qingming Riverside Park and “Qinhuai Renjia” withthe characteristics of Jingzhou. The main business of the project includesindigenous delicacies, commodity shops, cultural experiences, leisure &entertainment and courtyard accommodation, offering an open cultural experienceand a leisurely atmosphere.It will become a moderncommercial street with ancient charm.

Theconstruction of the Jingjie Street project will start on March 18

Theconstruction of the street will be completed and put into operation on January8, 2020.

ProjectDescription: Longfeng Village is located in the southeast corner withinJingzhou Ancient City, adjacent to Xindong Gate and Gong’an Gate. The totalinvestment of the project is 650 million yuan, with a total land area of 8hectares and a total construction area is 80,000 sq.m.

Theproject takes the history and culture of Jingzhou Ancient City as thebackground and the recently excavated ancient street ruins of the Song Dynastyas the highlight.  Combining the ancientwall culture, folk culture, intangible heritage culture and so on, the projectaims to build a historical and cultural street and an intangible cultural heritagetown in Jingzhou through protection and display of the ruins. Meanwhile, italso boasts theme hotels, unique snacks, inns, commodity shops and other businessesrelated to tourism and leisure, which extends and supports the East Gate scenicarea.

Theconstruction of the project will begin in the second half of 2019.

Theconstruction of the project will be completed and put into operation in 2020.

[TheJiulongyuan Dragon Boat Stand in Jingzhou Ancient City will be upgraded to atheatre]

ProjectDescription: The Jiulongyuan Dragon Boat stand will be expanded and upgraded toa theater to meet the needs of large-scale events and performances such as theInternational Dragon Boat World Cup and LiuBei Got Married. The total investment of the project is 50 million yuan,with a total land area of 13,300 sq.m. and a construction area of 3,500 sq.m.

Theconstruction of the project will begin in the second half of 2019 and will becompleted and put into operation at the end of 2019.
