Since commencing on October8, 2018, Jingzhou's civil airport project with a total investment of 1.3billion yuan has drawn wide attention from citizens. Currently the project hasfully entered the stage of runway construction. The terminal and its auxiliaryworks are expected to break ground in early April.

On the construction site ofJingzhou Civil Airport, the foundation replacement (stone replacement) of runwayslots was under way. According to the person in charge, the aircraft movementarea has fully entered the construction stage and the grading of the terminalarea is in parallel.

The main works of the project havefour sections, including 3 civil aviation sections (runway and auxiliary works,navigational lighting aid, ATC installation and weak current engineering), aswell as 1 non-civil aviation section (terminal, single buildings and auxiliary works).ATC installation and weak current engineering will commence this Juneconcurrently with terminal and auxiliary works.

Located in Cenhe Town, ShashiDistrict, with a construction area of some 2,143 mu, a passenger throughput of1 million for 2030 and designed aircraft movement area grade of 4c, JingzhouCivil Airport involves the construction of a runway 2,600 meters long and 45meters wide and a vertical taxiway, the construction of 5 parking bays, and theconstruction of communication facilities, navigational facilities,meteorological facilities, fueling facilities, fire facilities and otherauxiliary facilities. As a domestic civil feeder airport, the airport willmainly serve Jingzhou, and radiate Jingmen, Qianjiang, Tianmen and other citiesaround.
