During the Qingming Festival, the numberof tourists showed a clear increase due to the fine weather. According to thestatistics of the Municipal Culture Bureau and Tourism Bureau, our cityreceived a total of 639,000 tourists within three days with tourism income of472 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26%.
During the three-day festival, our citypromoted various tourism products. Jingzhou city as well as the counties anddistricts have promoted multiple activities, such as cultural tourism, ruraltourism, revolutionary tourism and eco-tourism, actively developed tourismproducts of sight-seeing, vacation and leisure activities for different consumergroups, provided guidance for personalized tourism such as self-driving tour,which greatly enriched the supply of tourism products. The tourism attractions includethe cultural tourism such as Jingzhou Ancient City, Jingzhou Museum, GuangongyiPark, the rural tourism such as the Taohua Mountain Ecological Park in Shishou,Laowan village in Honghu, the revolutionary tourism such as Zhoulaozui inJianli and Qujiawan in Honghu, the eco-tourism such as Weishui in Songzi andTian’e Island in Shishou, the vacation tourism such as Xiejiaping in Songzi andYuexi Peninsula in Honghu. In addition, the most important part of tourism inJingzhou “The World of Guangong" has been adapted for the stage whichreproduces the historical stories of the Three Kingdoms period and provides thecultural and audio-visual feasts for the tourists, making the cultural tourism morepopular.
To promote the creation of civilizationcity, all the scenic spots, star hotels and travel agencies have carried out thecivilization tourism activities with service stations (sites) to help withtourists and persuade them to be civilized tourists for the sake of publicenvironment, which was highly appreciated by most tourists.
To ensure the safety and order oftourism market during the festival, the cultural and tourism departments at alllevels enhanced the supervision and joint law enforcement. A total of 39 lawenforcements were conducted and about 43 business units were inspected, 7 ofthem were ordered to make corrections, which further regulated the behavior oftourism enterprises and employees and improved service quality. [Almost 330,000 Passengers in SafeTransportation in Jingzhou]
On April 7th, it’s informed from theMunicipal Transportation Management Bureau that the road transportation was ingood order during the Qingming Festival and a total of 329,485 passengers werein safe transportation.
The weather was fine during the QingmingFestival and most of the travelers went to sweep the tombs or go for hiking inshort-distance destinations, such as Songzi, Jingmen, Yichang, Shayang andTianmen surrounding Jingzhou. A total of 8,311 passenger cars in 19,791 shiftsand 225 chartered trips are organized for road transportation all over thecity. On April 5th and 7th, the passenger traffic of road transportationreached more than 110,000 persons.
To cope with the concentrated passengerflow, the transportation management department demanded all passenger stationsto make forecast in advance and prepare well for the traffic flow. During thefestival when the passenger flow was heavy, the flow ticket sales and busshifts were carried out to ensure the traffic order in rush hours and meet theneeds of travelers by various measures such as adding bus shifts and shorteningdeparture intervals. During the 3-day Qingming Festival, theurban bus station ushered in the rash hour of passenger flow. It’s informedthat the Jingzhou Passenger Terminal, the Long-Distance Bus Station and the HongmenluBus Station safely delivered more than 32,000 passengers, a higher flowcompared with last year.
During the Qingming Festival, the threebus stations ushered in the passenger flows of grave-sweeping, hiking as wellas relatives and friends visiting. The Jingzhou Passenger Terminal sent 20,000passengers, an increase of 50% compared with last year, mainly to theBalingshan Cemetery, Songzi, Gong’an, Haoxue, Shishou and other destination.The bus station specially arranged No. 803 Bus to the Longshan Cemetery and theBalingshan Cemetery with 50 buses to enhance the transportation capacity. Atthe same time, the Long-Distance Bus Station sent about 5,000 passengers andthe Hongmenlu Bus Station sent more than 7,700 passengers, most of them wereshort-distance lines.
In addition, the short-distance trafficflow to Jingmen, Xiaogan, Xiangyang, Wuhan, Shayang, Tianmen and otherdestinations for hiking during the Qingming Festival has also greatlyincreased. All the bus stations also strengthened the inspection on passengerbaggage for inflammable and explosive materials to ensure the security oftransportation.
