Accordingto a source from the Jingzhou Association for Science and Technology (JAST), lastyear the Hubei Provincial Office of Implementing the Outline of NationalScientific Quality Action Plan entrusted the China Research Institute forScience Popularization to evaluate the scientific quality ratio of Jingzhou'scitizens in the middle of the "thirteenth five-year period" throughonline and offline monitoring. As a result, Jingzhou ranked top in Hubei with aratio of 8.5 percent.
In2018, JAST established 7 new provincial academician expert workstations toincrease the total number of such workstations in Jingzhou to 62, including 49provincial academician expert stations and 13 municipal academician expertstations.
JASTrecruited 12 technology experts, established 35 technology expert service teamsfor targeted poverty alleviation, signed 12 technology service agreements with8 counties, cities and districts, and provided technology training service to371 impoverished villages on file.
In2018, JAST organized the selection of the 2nd "Henglong Cup" JingzhouTen Outstanding Technology Workers and the award ceremony in association withthe Organization Department and Publicity Department of the CPC JingzhouMunicipal Committee, as well as the Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resourcesand Social Security. 10 experts including Wang Qingjun were awarded the titleof the 2nd Jingzhou Ten Outstanding Technology Workers, 10 experts includingDing Kangle won the Nomination Award for the 2nd Jingzhou Ten OutstandingTechnology Workers, and 20 experts including Ma Yujie were awarded the title ofthe 2nd Jingzhou Outstanding Technology Workers. JAST also organized the reviewof the 12th Jingzhou Outstanding Academic Papers on Natural Science andreceived 492 papers. Among these papers, 6 won the Grand Prize, 20 won theFirst Prize, 34 won the Second Prize and 53 won the Third Prize. JASTimplemented the "Chenguang Program", recommended Dr. Wu Zhiqin, DeputyChief Physician at Jingzhou Central Hospital for the "ChenguangProgram" of the Hubei Association for Science & Technology in 2018, andgot a fund of 30,000 yuan to attend "TEMC & BHGF Overseas TrainingProgram for Medical Staff" running for three months at the UniversityHospital of Sassari.
