Jingzhou achieves import & export growth in Q1 with total imports & exports of 3.01 billion yuan

Accordingto a recent source from Jingzhou Customs, Jingzhou achieved import and exportgrowth in the first quarter of this year, registering exports of 2.39 billionyuan, up 4.5 percent year on year; imports of 620 million yuan, up 120 percentyear on year; and total imports and exports of 3.01 billion yuan, up 17 percentyear on year, ranking fifth in Hubei.

Generaltrade dominated and processing trade plunged in the first quarter. In the firstquarter, Jingzhou registered imports and exports of 2.74 billion yuan throughgeneral trade, up 33.7 percent year on year, accounting for 91 percent ofJingzhou's total imports and exports. Jingzhou registered imports and exportsof 250 million yuan through processing trade, down 51.4 percent year on year.

Interms of enterprise type, private enterprises dominated and Sino-foreign jointventures grew significantly. Private enterprises registered imports and exportsof 1.54 billion yuan, accounting for 51.2 percent of Jingzhou's total importsand exports; state-owned enterprises registered imports and exports of 580million yuan, accounting for 19.3 percent; foreign-invested enterprises registeredimports and exports of 890 million yuan, accounting for 29.6 percent;Sino-foreign joint venture registered imports and exports of 380 million yuan,up 120 percent year on year.

Interms of industry, chemical products manufactured by enterprises like Sanonda,Nenter, Jianghan Fine Chemical and Chuyuan, as well as automotive parts manufacturedby Henglong still dominated export, Jingzhou's chemical product exports and automotiveparts exports reached 1.25 billion yuan and 240 million yuan respectively.Shanying International imported papermaking equipment worth 200 million yuan, LongchenGreentech imported papermaking equipment worth 150 million yuan and keyprojects are expected to bring about new industrial development.

Inthe first quarter, Jingzhou's key trade partners were still the US, the EU andIndia which contributed a total trade value of 1.78 billion yuan, accountingfor 59.1 percent of Jingzhou's total imports and exports. Jingzhou's trade withIndia and EU grew significantly, up 43.3 percent and 12.9 percent year on yearrespectively.
