Updated: 2019-06-26 15:00:56

With the 483-km-long Yangtze Riverrunning from west to east across the territory, Jingzhou has the longestYangtze River coastline in the province, and all counties, cities, anddistricts within its jurisdictions are built along the Yangtze River. Byadhering to the green development road featuring Ecology of Top Priority,Jingzhou strives to promote the construction of green ports and green waterway, builds efficient and intelligent energy-saving system, and takes solid actionsto make progress on the construction of green port and shipping, thus taking ona journey of green ecological development.

Here is the Libugang Integrated Port. The cranes standing on the banks of the Yangtze River are working in an intensiveand orderly manner, and three are three supported berths for trial operation.Standing on the dock and looking into the port area, one can see the sandstonecollection central warehouse with a height of 20 meters under construction. Thefree space around the river and the storage yard is full of flowers and trees. What a green landscape! It is said that in accordance with the approvedconstruction scale, the total investment of Libugang is to reach 450 millionyuan, with 6 berths and an actual annual throughput of 3.5 million tons.

After completion of the No. 5 and No. 6 berths, it willbecome the first sandstone collection center in Jingzhou City and is planned tobe put into use at the end of June. Compared with other port areas, All-closurewill be realized for sandstone from ships to the loading area, and the sanddoes not fall during the whole process.

Through years of construction and development, the Yanka PortArea has become a large scale modern comprehensive port area in the middle andupper reaches of the Yangtze River, as well as an important logistics base inthe Dongting Lake Plain and Honghu Lake Plain. In order to ensure sustainableand healthy development of the port area, strive to implement the concept ofsafe and green development, avoid the adverse impact on the ecologicalenvironment of the Yangtze River caused by scattering of minerals, fertilizersand grains during the transportation of cargo ships, the Yanka Port hasactively communicated with the shipping companies and worked together tovigorously promote the transition from bulk transport to containertransportation.

In the past, a large amount of dust was generated at bulkcargo terminals during the loading and unloading process. When wind blew, thedust rose, causing pollution to the surrounding environment; through thetransition of logistics mode from bulk transport to container transportation,it effectively avoids the leakage of cargo dust, reduces the loss of goods andimproves transportation efficiency.
