In the first of half of 2019, Jingzhou went all out to implement “four tough transportation tasks" and advanced the development of highways, trunk highways, four-goodrural roads and water transport. Jingzhou came out on top in Hubei with a transportationinvestment of 7.35 billion yuan in the first half.
Thenorth section of Shashi-Gong'an Highway and the highway part of JingzhouYangtze River Highway-Railway Bridge were completed; the subgrade and bridge &culvert works of Honghu-Jianli Highway were wound up and the highway isexpected to be open to traffic in late September; Shishou Yangtze River Bridge wasclosed and is expected to be open to traffic on October 1; the middle span of Honghu-JiayuYangtze River Bridge was closed and is expected to be open to traffic in late2019; the Mazhen interchange of Shanghai-Chongqing Highway is expected to beopen to traffic in late August.
Trunkroads were constructed in the mode of "construction-maintenanceintegration". 3 central enterprises were involved in the construction of 3projects with a total investment of 10.7 billion yuan. The projects will drivethe implementation of all ordinary trunk highway projects in the"Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" with a total scale of 14.9 billion yuan.
"Four-goodrural roads" were constructed throughout Jingzhou to consolidate itsagricultural and rural transportation foundation. Shishou was named a provincialmodel county for "four-good rural road" construction. Balingshan Townof Jingzhou District, Sanhu Administrative Area of Jiangling County, YanglinshiTown of Songzi City and Dongsheng Town of Shishou City were named provincialmodel towns/townships.
TheMaster Plan of Jingzhou Port (2035) wasapproved. Key projects such as Phase 1 of Jingzhou Coal Rail-Water Transport, Storageand Distribution Base, Integrated Industrial Terminal of Jiangling EconomicDevelopment Zone and Phase 2 of Songzi Cheyanghe Terminal were advanced in anorderly way. The construction of sandstone handling centers was sped up.Jingzhou Libu Sandstone Handling Center and Jiangling Xingrun Energy Terminalwent into trial operation.
