Theconstruction progress of Western Inner Mongolia-Central China Railway has drawngreat attention as China's first coal transport line with the highest axleload, longest distance and widest coverage, as well as a strategic transportchannel under the national north-to-south coal transfer project. The Jingzhousection of the railway is under construction and is expected to be open totraffic on October 1, 2019.

Asthe day when the full line is open to traffic on October 1, 2019 isapproaching, the construction of the railway is drawing to an end. The projectdepartment of MHSD-2 of Western Inner Mongolia-Central China Railway of ChinaRailway Construction Electrification Bureau has worked on the electrificationof the section from Jingzhou East Station to Jiangling Station since itstransfer from the construction site in Inner Mongolia to Jingzhou.

Inthe last few days, the workers have lost no time in debugging against thescorching sun on the construction site of Jingzhou East Station of WesternInner Mongolia-Central China Railway. The main works of the signal buildingnext to the station have been completed, with equipment installation under way.

Witha length of some 100 kilometers, the Jingzhou section of Western InnerMongolia-Central China Railway has Jingzhou East Station, Jiangling Station,Gong'an Station, Ouchi Station and Shishou Station. It forms a "goldencross" with the Yangtze River in Jiangling. After its completion, it willfundamentally solve the energy bottleneck problem of Hubei, and provide strongenergy and element support for the development of the coal power industry inJingzhou and Jianghan Plain. The overhead line and traction construction ofJingzhou East Station has been completed.

Accordingto a head of the Jingzhou Municipal Railway Office, the station front works,bridge works and electric power works of the Jingzhou section of Western InnerMongolia-Central China Railway have basically been completed. According to theresults of static acceptance, joint debugging and commissioning will beconducted after the adjustment of some details to prepare for the opening ofthe full line to traffic.
