Commemorating the Friendly Relationship and Expressing Good Wishes

This year marks the 15thanniversary of the establishment of friendly relationship between the Gangneung City, South Korea and Jingzhou City, China. Inspired by Gyeongpo Lake and thelegend of the five moons in Gyeongpo Lake in Gangneung City, South Korea, theKorean Exhibition Garden is named after "the Fate of the Mirror Lake".

As an important garden in the internationalgardens, "the Fate of the Mirror Lake" firmly grasps the opportunityof the 15th anniversary of the establishment of sister-cityrelationship between the two cities. It also tends to celebrate the successfulcompletion of the Winter Olympics in South Korea, and look forward to thesmooth opening of the Winter Olympics in Beijing. With multiple good newsinterweaving with each other, a modern garden landscape that is intertwined istherefore designed.

Guided by a "red ribbon", the fivetheme gardens are displayed successively in "the Fate of the MirrorLake", all interlocking and connecting with each other. It hasdemonstrated the long-standing exchange history between Jingzhou City andGangneung City, showed the close connection between Korean and Chinese culturalties, and expressed the good wishes of the Chinese and Korean people forever-lasting friendship.

Characteristics

Missing Theme Throughout the Garden

Following the curve shape and trend of"red ribbon", the Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon Garden forms awinding landscape pattern with smooth linear paving and round flower pond, asif in the mountains of Gangneung City in South Korea, or back to the tortuousYangtze river in Jingzhou.The first-layer missing emotions can be expressed in the name of"Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon".As the central garden of "the Fate ofMirror Lake", the Missing Moon is centered by a group of large mirrorpools. With the most common colors in Korean culture,the circular square is dotted with smallsquares of red, white and blue paving. The "red ribbon" lingers itand closely connects the moon and South Korea, which will sublimate the missingtheme.

Landscape Technique

A "Red Ribbon" Connects "the Fate of the Mirror Lake"

Inspired by Gyeongpo Lake and the legend ofthe five moons in Gyeongpo Lake in Gangneung City, South Korea, the KoreanExhibition Garden is named after "the Fate of the Mirror Lake".As the key point of design, the missing intentionis transformed into a "red ribbon" landscape gallery featured bysteel structure. Through the connection of this ribbon, five theme gardens,namely "Quiet Moon", "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon","Missing Moon", "Tree-lined Moon" and "Joy Moon",are displayed successively. Boasting its own characteristics and variedcolorful splendor, each garden closely follows the theme of "the Fate ofthe Mirror Lake", which has illuminated the deep friendship between thetwo cities, showed the close cultural connection between two countries, andexpressed the good wishes between the Chinese people and Korean people for ever-lastingfriendship. At present,the garden has entered the final project.
