Whilethe summer’s heat is threatening at the 8th lunar month, the construction siteof Jingzhou Rejuvenation Avenue is as hot as the weather. As the largestproject of Jingzhou’s infrastructure construction, how about the currentconstruction of Rejuvenation Avenue?
As the 49th joint of Rejuvenation Avenue, Jingxiang River Bridge isthe end point of JingbeiViaduct. It’s divided into one main line bridge and two auxiliary roadbridges, stretching across the east and west sides of Jingxiang River. Itserves as the key node project of Rejuvenation Avenue.
Adopting a box girder with v-shaped steel structure,Jingxiang River Bridge is a continuous bridge of variable cross-section with aspan of 37 meters +66 meters +37 meters. The bridge embraces a total span of 3spans in 1 unit and a length of 140 meters, and employs hollow box structure,the biggest construction difficulty of which lies in the one-time pouring processof continuous box girder.
The one-time pouring process will not produceconstruction joint, not only enjoying higher safety and better quality, butalso saving construction period. In addition, according to the requirement of“One Bridge Matches One Scenery” pursued by the government, the landscape schemeof “The two phoenixes fly side by side” is adopted in the design of the JingxiangRiver Bridge, and exactly satisfied by the v-shaped steel structure plus thesuspension cable.
Located at the intersection of ZhuangwangAvenue, the Subproject II of Rejuvenation Avenue, the 19th joint of steel boxgirder has a span of 35 meters +50 meters +35 meters. In order to ensure asuccessful completion of hoisting and welding in steel box girder, theconstructors carry out 24-hour operation on site in two shifts, hoisting thesteel box girder during the day and welding it at night.
Both located near Jingzhou Railway Station, JingzhouAvenue and Zhuangwang Avenue are confronted with huge traffic pressure due tothe large flow of people and vehicles coming and going in a great number. Followingthe construction of steel box girder, the traffic pressure on this road sectionis expected to be alleviated markedly.
Jiang Chunshan, the production director ofSubproject II of Rejuvenation Avenue, China Gezhouba Group, says that, withregard to the first node, it’s planned that the intersection of ZhuangwangAvenue in north-south direction is to be opened to traffic on 15thSeptember, so does near the turntable of little North Gate, Jingzhou Avenue onthe same day for the second node. For the third node, theintersection of Zhuangwang Avenue will meet the demand of traffic node target,attaining the traffic condition on 28th September.
Located in the north side of the central areasof Jingzhou City, Rejuvenation Avenue Project starts from the Jing Jiang-to-HanJiang Water Division Cannels in the west, and reaches Shanghai Avenue to theeast. The project is 23.9 kilometers long with a total investment of 8.56billion yuan. The construction of Rejuvenation Avenue is divided into bridgeengineering, road engineering and pipe gallery engineering. Up to 5thSeptember, bridge engineering saw 97.76% completion rate of pile foundation, and94.07% of cushion cap. Road engineering saw 78.97% completion rate offoundation and 47.02% of subgrade filling. Pipe gallery engineering saw 83.15%completion rate of pipe gallery supporting, 48% of pipe gallery excavation and 33.51%of pipe gallery main body. Strengthened efforts were made in promoting theconstruction of various projects in an orderly manner.
Accordingto the planning and construction scheme, the design speed of the main line of RejuvenationAvenue is 80 km/h while that of the auxiliary road is 40 km/h, making the wholejourney barrier-free. After completion, it will become the traffic principalaxis of Jingzhou central city in east-west direction, connecting the Jingzhoustation of Shanghai-Chengdu High-Speed Railway, the Jingzhou East Station of InnerMongolia-Jiangxi Railway, the Cenhe New Airport and other important trafficnodes.
