Yangtze University Garden is located in the northeastcorner of the exhibition park. Based on the design idea of “Infiniteness”,taking Never-ending Scientific Research and Talent Cultivation as the gardentheme, the garden offers visitors the experience of viewing different sceneswhile moving by taking advantage of the visual space. Though the overallarrangement of the garden is uneven, it is quite interesting and unique. Theroads are circuits connecting each other, and the humanity and nature have beenorganically integrated. 

Theme: Never-ending Scientific Research and Talent Cultivation 

Based on the core design idea of “Infiniteness”,Yangtze University Garden consists of three parts: Qingxiao Garden, HumorCourtyard and Wuzhi Bridge. The three-dimensional fluctuation and infinitecontinuation symbolize both the ceaseless running of the Yangtze River waterand the never-ending pursuit of the university in scientific research andtalent cultivation.  

In Yangtze University Garden, loud readingsounds drift around big trees on grass slopes, and learning achievements areaccompanied by rapidly running water and merry songs. You may feel theintegration of culture and nature and find some resonance and a sense ofbelonging here. 

Characteristics: Small Garden with Wonderful Scenery 

Two circular venues — Qingxiao Garden andHumor Courtyard — respectively correspond to the exit and entrance. WuzhiBridge is between them. It is a fluctuant “∞-shaped”bridge. Yangtze University Garden has created the effects of viewing differentscenes while moving in the small garden by constantly changing the viewingangles of visitors, which enables visitors to experience more differentlandscape viewing angles and space perceptions when they walk in the garden. 

Highlight: Organic Integration of Humanity and Nature 

[Wuzhi Bridge] The fluctuating color linesover the cyclic footpaths have marked the historical track on the origins,development and integration of the four predecessor colleges of the university.The English name of Yangtze University on the rusty grid fence can be seen indistinctly.By taking advantage of the visual space, the terrain fluctuation and the twistsand turns of roads have been developed into some three-dimensional spatial “Infiniteness”. 

[Qingxiao Garden] The larger circular area is “QingxiaoGarden”. The dialogue between a teacher and an apprentice under a big treeimplies the origin of schools and education. A big tree and an inclined grasslawn constitute the familiar Qingxiao Garden. The benches scattered on thegrass slope represent the different colleges and departments of YangtzeUniversity. Qingxiao Garden is an outdoor forum, reflecting the dialoguebetween humanity and nature. 

[Humor Courtyard] The smaller circular area is“Humor Courtyard”. The interactive scenes are used to reflect the closeconnection of the two preponderant disciplines of the university — petroleumand agronomy — with the ecological development. The three interactive bicyclesattract teenagers and cause them to participate in the artificial kineticenergy fountain game. The pavement of the circuit has become a geologicalgallery, accompanying the operation of the interactive bicycles. Meanwhile, thewater in the pool can be used to irrigate the nearby “fields”. Similarly, thecrops grown here have produced amazing landscape effects.
