Jingzhou City Exhibition Garden of the Garden Expo Park takesthe urban image and historical label of Jingzhou as elements, combine theelements with the other elements such as landscape architecture and plants, andmake all the elements jointly create a garden landscape with green plants,shade, flowers, sceneries and charm.
Jingzhou City Exhibition Garden is located inthe “Chu Charm” Area of Jingzhou Garden Expo Park, covering an area of 3,990 m2.The entrance is in the west and the exit is in the east. The natural landscape istaken as the framework. Combining the original terrains, the surrounding areahas been made higher than the flat central part. Over 10 scenic spots such asConstellation Square, Chu Art Garden, Sunshine Lawn, Chu Art Garden, SunshineLawn and Renaissance Nursery Garden have been designed to vividly reveal theorigin, development and future of the Jingchu Culture.
Mr. Yang Bin, a construction worker ofJingzhou City Exhibition Garden of Jingzhou Garden Expo Park, said that InitialDevelopment of Mountains and Forests, Flourishing Age of Jingchu andAffectionate Couples are the three themes of Jingzhou City Exhibition Gardenand they respectively reflect the hard-working history of the Chu ancestors,their firm and indomitable spirit and the great ambition of modern Jingzhou revival.
Jingzhou City Exhibition Garden has beenturned into an exhibition garden integrating the natural ecology and theJingchu Culture through the three major areas: Constellation Square, Chu ArtGarden and Terrace Garden. It is worth mentioning that a stage with a height ofnine meters will be built in Chu Art Garden imitating the ancient “ChuanzhuTemple” of Jingzhou. The stage will integrate a performance viewing corridorand Chuyue Pavilion, form a semi-enclosed garden space and become a garden inJingzhou City Exhibition Garden.
Abundant landforms such as hilly areas, ponds,streams, wetland, lawns and slopes have been created in Jingzhou CityExhibition Garden, including the hilly area symbolizing Mount Jing and the lawnsimulating an area of rivers and lakes in Jianghan Plain. There are variousvegetation species in the exhibition garden and they have various features.Mount Jing Jungle Garden mainly includes the city flowers of Jingzhou City andit also includes some indigenous plants of Jingshan Area such as vitex andcymbopogon to highlight the ecological characteristics and the regionalcharacteristics of Jingzhou. The upper part of Fengxiang Flower Slope mainlyincludes Chinese parasol trees and osmanthus fragrans trees, highlighting thePhoenix Culture. Chu Art Garden and Mengze Wetland mainly include the beautifulflowers and fine trees stated in the Songsof Chu, highlighting the plant aesthetics of the Chu Culture. The lowerpart mainly includes the perennial flowers with strong self-sowing andmultiplying ability.
Mr. Yang Bin said: “Jingzhou City Exhibition Gardenhas also exhibited abundant plant application forms and plant landscapes. Theapplication forms include ornamental woods, bushes, isolated trees, wild flowercover, natural flower borders, ornamental grass clusters and perennial flowers.The typical plant landscapes constitute all the scenic spots such as NaturalJungle, Wetland Flower Island, Classical Garden, Grassland in Sparse Woods andGreen Ecological Wall.”
The ten major scenic spots of Jingzhou CityExhibition Garden are constructed according to the three historical culturestages — Becoming Civilized and Exploration, Glorious Civilization and Strugglefor Revival, taking the natural ecology as the background and integrating thecharacteristics of the Jingchu Culture.
Mr. Yang Bin said that a mini-square — ZhenyuSquare — had been designed combining the second entrance of the exhibitiongarden, a color steel landmark sculpture consisting of nine phoenixes named “Zhenyu”would be made on the square, and it would imply affectionate couples andsymbolize the successfully cultivated people who wanted to make more splendidachievements.
