The Jingzhou Garden Expo Park Project includesthe exhibition gardens of 10 counties, cities and districts. The exhibition gardensreflect the natural charm of Jingzhou with abundant rivers and lakes, takingthe Jingzhou culture with abundant fishes, rice and water as the carrier andrelying on its own characteristics. Among the gardens, Jiangling County ExhibitionGarden has fully inherited the water context of Jiangling through therepresentative historical and cultural symbols and regional natural styles andfeatures. Emphasis has been laid on the flexible water charm integration in thelandscape garden creation process.  

The area of Jiangling County Exhibition Gardenis 1,500 m2. 10 scenic spots have been planned and designed in thegarden and they are respectively Wangjiang Gate, Banjiang Stream, Red-crownedCrane Tower, Qianhe Gate, Qihe Terrace, Jianghe Charm, Banjiang Pavilion,Dances of Cranes, Jiangling Ferry and Tieniu Rock. These scenic spots are derivedfrom the actual life and they vividly reveal the “Great Jiangling” in a limitedspace. According to the planning and design positioning, emphasis should belaid on Exhibition and Garden, that is, the garden should exhibit the urbanlandscape and features, reflect different garden building techniques, creategardens with regional features based on the representative culture and revealthe unique natural resources and humanistic connotations of Jiangling. Theterrain of Jiangling County Exhibition Garden is flat. It is surrounded bywater on two sides. People in the garden can enjoy a wide vision. The designerhas taken full advantage of the water distribution in landscaping. Thewatermark elements and crane symbols have always been used in the whole designto expound the literary quotation on the description of Jiangling: WaterCountryside with Abundant Rainfall and Hometown of Red-crowned Cranes. Inaddition, the designer has extracted the symbolic elements of Jiangling Countyand used them in the construction of the architectures and landscapes of theexhibition garden to enable visitors to see different scenes while moving andhighlight the themes.

Jiangling County Exhibition Garden is built based onthe special geographic environment of Jiangling. Water has been introduced intothe garden and a spatial arrangement of One Axis Connecting Three Areas and OneBody of Water Dividing the Garden into Two Parts has formed. One axis refers tothe main axis of the exhibition garden. The three areas have been respectivelynamed Bancheng Water Town, Water Hometown of Red-crowned Cranes and GreatJiangling. Half of the garden reflects the profound culture of Jiangling andthe other half of the garden reflects the vigorous development of Jingling. Oneexhibition garden simultaneously reflects two different aspects of Jiangling. 

The micro-relief of Jiangling County ExhibitionGarden has been carefully designed and constructed. The terrain of the gardenhas been made into some fluctuant terrain.Red-crowned Crane Tower is used as acommanding height to form a visual center. Some other structures such aspavilions, corridors and terraces, and Red-crowned Crane Tower have togetherformed some beautiful skyline variation and improved the level and rhythm ofJiangling County Exhibition Garden.
