On the afternoon of September 28, the 15thanniversary celebration of Jingzhou-Gangneung sister cities relationship establishment took place atGangneung Garden, Jingzhou Garden Expo Park.
Kim Han-geun, Mayor of Gangneung and Cui Yonghui, Mayor of Jingzhouattended and addressed the celebration.
Cui warmly welcomed the Gangneung government delegation on behalf ofthe CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People'sGovernment. With a distinct theme and a unique technique of landscape planning,Gangneung Garden presented a cultural and artistic work to Jingzhou people,said he. Since establishing sister cities relationship, Jingzhou and Gangneunghave maintained frequent high-level and public servant exchanges, and carriedout fruitful cooperation in a wide range of fields such as education, culture,health and tourism. Now Jingzhou's transportation, ecology, urban developmentand industrial construction are in a critical period of new-round accelerateddevelopment. He sincerely hoped that the two cities would further tapcooperation potential and expand cooperation space, strengthen people-to-peopleexchanges, and carry out project cooperation in modern agriculture, ecologicalenvironment and technical innovation, to constantly benefit the people in bothcities.
Kim said he visited Jingzhou last November. Onthe occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of sister citiesrelationship between the two cities, he and the delegation visited Jingzhouagain and benefited a lot from the visit. Over the 15 years, the two citieshave forged a close partnership, accomplished common development and achievedfruitful results in cooperation. He hoped that the two sides would continuestrengthening cooperation, enhance Jingzhou citizens' understanding of Gangneung through Gangneung Garden, and further expand exchangesin cultural tourism and other fields, to bring the friendly relationshipbetween the two cities to a new level.
In the day, the two mayors also planted afriendship tree in Gangneung Garden.
Chen Bin, Secretary General of the Jingzhou MunicipalPeople's Government, hosted the celebration.
