The Greenway Project around the Lake is put forward byHonghu City in order to speed up the building of "Three Honghu", improvethe tourism pattern and the ecological environment around Honghu Lake andpromote economic growth in the areas along the Lake. At present, Phase I of theproject is under construction. 

The Greenway Project around the Lake in Honghu City is acomprehensive project integrating ecological protection, sports, recreation,cultural experience, science popularization education, tourism and resort. Itdesigns to set up 8 stations，including Xindi Huge Gate, Jinwan Tour Harbor, YugongLake, Wagouzi, Dakou, 38 Lake Fishery, Xinzui Village, Xiaogang, and 6landscape nodes, including Xindi Huge Gate, Jinwan Avenue, Wagouzi, DakouVillage, Temple of His Royal Highness and Xiaogang.

At the construction site of Jinwan Station, the workersare making further efforts to carry out the construction. The relevantresponsible person said that the ground treatment and pile foundation ofstation building have been completed, and the whole station combined with 5,600square meters of outdoor square, plus 3,000 square meters of parking lot is plannedto be put into use by March next year.

It’s understood that Phase I of the Greenway Projectaround the Lake in Honghu City expands based on the original Honghu Dike Projectwith the fact that the highway of Honghu Dike was less than 10 kilometers inthe past. Now, by means of the overall widening, reinforcement andtransformation, it can attain first-class highway standard after completion,forming a 24m-wide roadway, as well as pavement, slow lane and green belt, withthe widest area reaching 32m.

The Greenway Project around the Lake in Honghu City has atotal length of 104.41 kilometers, staring from Luoshan and ending at Qujiawanalong the Honghu Dike. The project is scheduled to be implemented in twophases. Currently, the Phase I of the project is the East Route around the Lakewith the project range from Xindi Huge Gate to Taima Lake Village, covering atotal length of 29.46km. It is comprised of Greenway Project, DikeReinforcement Project jointly carried forward with the Department of WaterResources, Traffic System Main Project, Traffic System Auxiliary Project,Greening Landscape Project, Greenway Station System Project and other projects.

Changyong Zhou, Executive General Manager of HonghuGreenway Construction Management Co., Ltd of Hubei Culture & TourismInvestment Group Co., Ltd, said the whole construction will be completed andput into use before May 1, 2021.
