Co-hostedby Chinese Athletics Association, Hubei Administration of Sport and JingzhouMunicipal People's Government, co-organized by Hubei Athletics Association andJingzhou Bureau of Sports, 2019 Jingzhou International Marathon kicked off onthe morning of October 20.
Amidst the morning fog, Jingzhou Sports Center sawvisitors come from near and afar. At 7 am, more than 20,000 runners fromJingzhou, 34 provincial-level administrative regions and 11 countries gatheredtogether at the starting line, preparing themselves for the marathon. At 8 amsharp, Tian Xiaojun, deputy director of Athletics Sports Management Center of GeneralAdministration of Sport of China, He Guangzhong, Secretary of Jingzhou MunicipalParty Committee, and Luo Qiyi, deputy director of Hubei Administration of Sportamong other leaders showed up and fired a gun together for the event.
2019 Jingzhou International Marathon is comprisedof 4 sections, namely full marathon, half marathon, mini marathon and familyrun, in accordance with the standards regulating A1-class events by ChineseAthletics Association. Mayor Cui Yonghui took part in the mini marathon. It wasknown that the eldest runner is 82 years old while the youngest is 1. Theroutes involved Jinxiang Avenue, Jianghan North Road, Jingsha Avenue, JiangjinRoad, Jingzhou Ancient City and Jingjiang Dike, etc. Runners got a glimpse ofthe glamorous ancient city, while immersing themselves into the picture scrollportraying the “charming Jingjiang of the 10,000-li Yangtze River”. Ordinarycitizens cheered for the runners in their own way along the routes.
After the fierce competition, the Kenyan runner Dessau Dennis secured thefirst place among male runners, finishing the race with 2’22”55, Kenyan runner Karen Hozen the secondplace, Yunnan runner Li Xingjing the third place. Chinese runner Tang Siqinsecured the first place among female runners, finishing the race with 3’02”09,while Jingzhou runner Ma Ting ranked the second place, the best result so farfor Jingzhou runners in the Jinzhou International Marathon. Kenyan runnerHelen ended up thethird one finishing the race among female runners. Ugandan runner Joshua ranked the firstin the male half marathon while Chinese runner Li Chunxia got the first placein the female half marathon.
WangShouwei, Chairman of Jingzhou CPPCC, Wu Zhao’an, member of the standingcommittee of Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee and director of PropagandaDepartment, Duan Changlin, member of the standing committee of JingzhouMunicipal Party Committee and Secretary General of Jingzhou Municipal PartyCommittee, Huang Tingsong and Tang Wei, both deputy mayors attended the event.
JingzhouRadio and Television Station leveraged the HD transmission car of Channel 10,satellite car, microwave car, portable 4G livestreaming equipment, aerialcamera and other equipment, relying on road monitoring signals, mobile phonelive livestreaming signals, network signals, livestreamed the event through atotal of 26 aircraft position news channels, Channel 963 and car broadcast 901.Online platforms, namely Wireless Jingzhou, Jingzhou News Network, Xinhua NewsAgency Live Cloud, Phoenix Network Wind Livestreaming, Toutiao, ChangjiangCloud, Sina Weibo live, livestreamed the marathon.
