According to the Jingzhou Airport Construction Headquarters yesterday, thefoundation treatment and earthwork project of the channel slot in JingzhouAirport’s flying area passed the acceptance. It signifies that the channel slotproject of the airport’s flying area has entered the road-surface constructionphase, providing necessary guarantee for the completion of the flying areaproject on time.

The acceptance of the foundation treatment and earthwork project of theflying area in Jingzhou Airport was organized by the Airport ConstructionHeadquarters and carried out by supervision, construction, design, testing, andgeological exploration departments. At the acceptance site, the acceptance teamscarried out check-ups in soil foundation flatness, elevation and compaction onfoundation treatment and earthworks in the runway project, station siteproject, taxiway link project, runway shoulder project, service lane, roadssurrounding the airport and terminal area, unanimously agreeing that thefoundation treatment and earthworks of the channel slot in Jingzhou Airport’sflying area meet relevant requirements of quality inspection and assessmentstandards and design requirements for civil airports’ channel slot project. TheCentral and Southern Regional Supervision Station of the Civil Aviation ProfessionalProject Quality Supervision Headquarters supervised the whole process,believing that the inspection results meet the quality inspection andassessment standards for the channel slot project at civil airports’ flyingarea, and agreed to pass the acceptance.

After the acceptance, the channel slot of the flying area will enter thenatural sedimentation period before the construction of stabilized layers. Theroad subbase is expected to be completed by the end of December this year, andthe airport’s main body construction to be completed in May next year.

At present, the main structureof the buildings inside the Jingzhou Airport terminal building and the mainsubsidiary buildings have been fully capped; the preparatory work for the routedevelopment and other operations is progressing steadily; supportinginfrastructure such as off-site roads, power supply and water system renovationare also under construction.
