According to a recent source from the SongziProject Department of CFMCC Jingzhou, the downtown section of Weishui Tourism Expresswayconstructed by the company has entered the countdown stage. The section isexpected to be open to traffic before this Spring Festival and the full line isexpected to be open to traffic late next year.

There were busy scenes everywhere on theconstruction site of the downtown section of the expressway. The workers were racingagainst time, some were working on the main line and some were working onmasonries in preparation for the laying of the third cement stabilizing base andasphalt pavement.

With a full length of 35.871 kilometers, atotal investment of 1.29 billion yuan and a designed speed of 80km/h, made upof the northern main line, the downtown section and the southern main line, theproject of Weishui Tourism Expressway in Songzi broke ground in December 2017.According to the Songzi Project Department of CFMCC Jingzhou, the downtownsection includes the downtown main line, Baiyunbian Boulevard, Tuochaitu Roadand Taipingqiao Road, and is expected to be open to traffic this SpringFestival according to the construction requirements and schedule.

The expressway linking downtown Songzi andWeishui Scenic Zone starts from the intersection of Provincial Highway 254 andMutianhe Village, and ends at Weishui Town. With a high-standard greenbelt andbikeway, based on towns and villages along the line and characteristicagriculture, the expressway will vigorously develop agricultural sightseeingand farming experience travel to become the most beautiful tourism highway inJingzhou and Hubei.

After being open to traffic, the expresswaywill greatly shorten the distance between downtown Songzi and Weishui tofacilitate travel, effectively promote the development and construction oftourism resources in Weishui Scenic Zone, enhance the popularity of the sceniczone, improve the development level of Songzi's tourism and add a new tourismsymbol to Jingzhou.
