Jingzhou City Management Law Enforcement Committee and Jingzhou Broadcast& TV Station have co-hosted a weekly programme named “My City is My Home”.In order to further improve the urban landscaping, Jingzhou Greening ManagementOffice has lately trimmed the camphor trees in the main and secondary roads, parks and gardens.

Alongthe Taiyue Road of Shashi District, gardeners were standing on the step laddersand pruning the branches. To ensure the safety of workers and pedestrians, safety fence was erected throughout.

Mr. Qu, a 63-year-old gardener, has been engaged in greening for over adecade. He told the reporter that trees plagued by pests need specialattention. If there were scale insects, workers would scrap off them and applytree wound remedies to the cut.

It is known that Jingzhou Greening Management Office has set aside over100 workers and 10 trucks each day to prune the camphor trees along JingshaAvenue, Jiangjin Road, Taiyue Road and Jingdong Road among others as well asthose in parks and gardens. Through pruning, the trees are in better shape andventilation, thus significantly improving the road scenery in the city.

Treesalong roads not only offer shades but render us better urban environment. Thus,Jingzhou Greening Management Office appeals that citizens can cooperate and showtheir understanding and support for the pruning efforts given that pruning workersand trucks take up some space on the streets.
