Updated: 2020-02-10 07:26:00

Good news came from the frontline of the fight against Covid-19 on February 9 that another 7 Covid-19 patients had been discharged from Jingzhou Central Hospital.

The 7 Covid-19 patients have been cured at the hospital. At 10 am, they walked out of the quarantine ward and were met with flowers and applause. Medical workers had prepared disinfectants for every one of them.

Among the 7 discharged patients 4 are from Jingzhou District, 1 from Jiangling County, 1 from Yichang City and 1 from Wuhan City. 1 is female and the others are male. The oldest is 62 and the youngest 29. The two 62-year-olds are a couple.

Pi Chuanyue working in Wuhan exhibited a symptom of cold around January 11.

On January 26, Pi returned to Jingzhou from Wuhan. Though without the symptom of fever, he felt uncomfortable and went to a hospital for a lung CT scan.

After being put under quarantine at the hospital, Pi and his wife Hu Xiqun were diagnosed with Covid-19 successively. After nearly 15 days of treatment, they gradually recovered and met the discharge requirements.

All the 7 patients once lived in Wuhan or contacted people returning from Wuhan. More attention should be paid to the couple of Pi and Hu that contracted Covid-19 due to family clustering.

Citizens will return to work for some time to come. At the very time Jingzhou should conduct epidemic prevention and control by strengthening personal protection.
