Purchasers in Anti-epidemic Frontline: We Will Run Errands for Whatever You Need
Updated: 2020-02-29 14:40:00

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Wangqiao Town, Jianlin County has implemented strict lockdown management. To guarantee the normal living needs of villagers, each village (community), at the unit of household, will uniformly purchase supplies each day, and send them to each household.

In the morning each day, the first job of Zhang Guoyin, Secretary of Guandang Village Party Branch, is to drive his private car to purchase daily necessities at a designated supply purchasing site for villagers who are now permitted to go outdoors.

After the measurement of body temperature, Zhang entered the only opened supermarket in the town. As each household requires different supplies, Zhang has prepared four notebooks to record the shopping lists in his own way, so as to avoid any missing.

In Sanhu Village, 12km away from Guandang Village, Party Branch Deputy Secretary Zhang Yanping filled the trunk of his car with supplies. He parked the car at the doorstep of a villager's house as one of the family members returned from Wuhan. Since screening, village cadres have implemented stay-at-home quarantine for this household.

Zhang left this household for the next one. Sanhu Village comprises 11 village groups with 4,460 villagers. Among them, one villager was diagnosed as a COVID-19 case, and three suspected cases, while 22 in close contact are being quarantined. Since the implementation of lockdown management across the town, Zhang has become a purchaser.

In Wangqiao Town, each village (community) has such purchasers. In the daytime, they guard village entrances, measure body temperature door to door, and conduct publicity and screening in households, while in the evening, they travel through all streets and lanes and the supermarket to purchase living supplies for villagers.
