It’s learned from the Jingzhou MunicipalEcology and Environment Bureau that the ambient air quality has continued toimprove from January to March this year, with three assessment indicators beingmuch better than those last year, and the number of good days reaching 76.Jingzhou ranked third among 168 key cities by air improvements in the firstthree months of 2020, which was announced by the Ministry of Ecology andEnvironment of China.

In the first quarter of this year, thecumulative concentration of PM10 and PM2.5, two assessment indicators for theambient air quality in Jingzhou, has reached 70 micrograms/m³ and 47micrograms/m³ respectively, down 40.2% and 32.9% from a year earlier. Besides,the proportion of good days has amounted to 83.5%, with a year-on-year increaseof 22.4 percentage points, increasing the total number of good days to 76, up21 days from a year ago. Starting from February 6, the city has obtained 55good days in succession.

To fight for a blue sky, Jingzhou cityhas further improved its atmospheric pollution prevention and control mechanismand system, optimized the technical supervision regulation system, takentargeted measures, conducted refined management, and reinforced the managementand control of emissions from industrial, moving and life sources.
