Jingzhou city plans to build 1,600 5Gbase stations by year-end, aiming to achieve the 5G signal coverage in itscentral urban area, and promote the construction of 5G application scenariodemonstration by setting up 100 indoor distribution sites in Party andgovernment organs, central urban areas and important places, according to theJingzhou Bureau of Economy and Information Technology.

The number of 5G base stations will reach3,200 across the city by the end of 2021, when the urban area of the city canachieve the full 5G signal coverage and that in counties can basically achievethe 5G signal coverage. By 2022, Jingzhou will build 4,700 5G base stations,achieving the full coverage in downtown and urban areas of counties as well askey towns, and realize the 5G application in key areas across the city,including 1,000 Party and government organs, traffic hubs, key industrialparks, large enterprises, tourist attractions, key schools and largeresidential communities. When conditions are ripe, the city will graduallyachieve the full coverage of 5G signals in key roads and rural areas.

A 5G network construction meeting, whichwas held on the afternoon of April 17, arranged key tasks, requiring relateddepartments at all levels to further increase the political stance, fullyrecognize the importance of accelerating 5G construction, and firmly masterindustrial development opportunities. Efforts should be also made to furtherunderscore the territorial responsibility, coordinating responsibility betweengovernmental and responsible departments, collaborating responsibility betweendivisional units and construction and operation responsibility betweenconstruction units. Besides, Jingzhou city plans to strengthen its schedulingand speed up plans to boost the application of 5G networks in various fields,such as smart tourism, smart healthcare and smart agriculture, in accordancewith the actual situation, so as to prop up the development of 5G-relatedindustries in the city. Through better leadership and supervision, the citywill actively boost the construction of new infrastructures throughproblem-oriented strategies, thus providing the strong support for high-qualityand sustainable economic development.
