Jingzhou Receives Almost 320,000 Tourists during May Day Holiday, Registers Revenue from Tourism of 29.14 Million Yuan

During the MayDay holiday, Jingzhou city strictly implemented the requirements of opening byappointment, opening with limited quantity and off-peaking opening for touristattractions, enabling its cultural tourism market to develop in a steady andorderly manner. All scenic spots in the city have received 325,300 touristsduring the 5-day holiday, and revenue from tourism has achieved 29.14 millionyuan, according to statistics from the Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Culturaland Tourism.

In accordancewith the requirements for epidemic prevention and control, 17 A-grade scenicspots in Jingzhou were reopened, while some non-A-grade key scenic spots, suchas Jingzhou Fantawild Oriental Heritage, Jingzhou Garden Expo Park, Golden BayFlower Sea in Honghu city and Rose Garden in Jingzhou district, were opened inan orderly manner. Rural tourist attractions, such as Huangshantou in Gong’an,Zhangmuxi in Songzi, Liuhu Mountain in Shishou, Yimi Ecological Agriculture inJiangling and Donggangzi in Jianli, also received tourists. All open scenicspots adopted stringent prevention and control measures, including temperaturemeasurement, personnel information registration, and avoidance of congestionand gathering.

Whileimplementing epidemic containment, scenic spots in Jingzhou also launched aseries of featured activities. For instance, Jingzhou Fantawild OrientalHeritage performed a drone light show; Jingzhou Garden Expo Park hostedabundant outdoor activities, such as an anti-epidemic photo exhibition, cruisestreet performances in Han Chinese costumes, Chinese-style cultural andcreative market and lawn concerts; King Chu's Mausolem launched abundant culturalexperience activities, such as experiencing Chu people’s clothing for free andparticipating in a fun sports meeting of Chu State.

Driven by richcultural tourism products, the cultural tourism industry in Jingzhou city isgradually recovering. During the May Day holiday, the Jingzhou Ancient City, ascenic spot that was included in provincial holiday tourism monitoring, hasreceived 7,241 tourists, and registered revenue from tourism of 987,900 yuan.Around 136,700 tourists chose self-driving and countryside tours in the city,from which revenue totaled approximately 13.192 million yuan. Besides, JingzhouFantawild Oriental Heritage has received 35,000 tourists, and realized revenuefrom tourism of 9.89 million yuan, while Jingzhou Garden Expo Park has received48,000 tourists, with revenue from tourism totaling 273,000 yuan. According tothe Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Cultural and Tourism, compared with the sameperiod of the previous year, both the number of tourists and revenue remarkablydeclined, but compared with the first quarter, the tourism market slightlyrecovered, and citizens preferred self-driving outings and leisure tours in thecountryside.

Besides,Jingzhou city highly valued the anti-epidemic and safety work for holidaytourism. During the May Day holiday, a total of 652 business entities in thecultural tourism market were inspected across the city. Notably, all opentourist attractions in the city have adopted prevention and control measures,such as temperature detection, green QR code checking, information registrationand avoidance of gathering, and the tourism market has witnessed a good order,without the occurrence of travel safety accidents and key tourist complaints.In general, the cultural and tourist market was stable and orderly. Culturalmarket entities on the restriction list, such as cinemas and theaters, KTVs,Internet bars and libraries, will continue to suspend business activities.
