After the CPC Central Committee proposed a decisionto foster and strengthen new driving forces through new infrastructure, the CPCJingzhou Municipal Committee and Jingzhou Municipal People's Government highlyvalued the 5G construction and development, set up a special leading group, andissued a series of support policies, aiming to do their best to advance the 5Gconstruction in the city. On the morning of May 16, the Jingzhou 5G+ launchevent was held at Midea’s 5G smart factory. Municipal Party Secretary HeGuangzhong attended the event, and dialed the city’s first 5G video call tocommunicate with Fan Bingheng, General Manager of China Mobile Hubei Branch.

In the video call, He Guangzhong thankedcommunication operators represented by China Mobile Hubei Branch for theirspeeding up the construction and opening of 5G base stations amid the COVID-19epidemic, which has laid a solid foundation for the popularization andutilization of 5G in our city. After entering the 5G+ era, Jingzhou city willunleash stronger development potential, embark on a new journey ofindustrialization and information technology, and strive to develop into a 5Gnetwork construction pilot area, an industrial development aggregation area andan innovative application demonstration area in Hubei province. Later on, HeGuangzhong also paid his respect to workers who were building 5G base stationsoutdoors.

The launch event displayed the application of 5Gdevice clusters, such as 5G-enabled unmanned aerial vehicles, vehicles andships in 5G+ government scenarios, demonstrated 5G flexible production linesand 5G AGV cars via livestreaming, and truly showcased the applicationscenarios of 5G+ traffic, health care and cultural tourism through the spotconnection with branch venues, such as Wuhan Economic and TechnologicalDevelopment Zone, Jingzhou Central Hospital, Jingzhou Fantawild OrientalHeritage and China Mobile Hubei Branch.
