Following Key Project: Lijiakou 2rd Station Under Construction for Improving People’s Livelihood

The constructionproject of the Lijiakou 2rd Station, as a major livelihood improvement projectfor water conservancy of Hubei Province in 2018, has gone smoothly since itsstart on October 30, 2018. Currently, the main work has been completed withinstallation of electromechanical equipment to be finished.

At theconstruction site, the installations of three 900-kW motor pumps and cablecasting have been completed. Workers are devoted to interior decoration and glasscurtain wall installation. At present, 94.5% of the planned investments, totaling35.65 million yuan, are accomplished, including the construction of the mainpump room, installation room, auxiliary workshop, outlet flow channel, and dikeoutlet culvert.

The plannedconstruction period is two years. In order to finish the underwaterconstruction before the flood season of this year, the work here was resumed inlate February in an orderly manner. It is understood that the Lijiakou 1stStation was built in 1974, equipped with 18 electric pumps with a power of 185kilowatts each, and a design flow of 24 cubic meters per second, which can nolonger fulfill the drainage requirements now. It undertakes the drainage task covering216.6 square kilometers, which involves Gong’an County, Songzi City and MishiTown. The establishment of the 2rd station will greatly improve the drainagecapacity.

Since the constructionproject of the Lijiakou 2rd Station is a major livelihood improvement projectfor water conservancy of Hubei Province in 2018, Jingzhou District will makesolid efforts to promote the improvement of water conservancy through related projects,strengthen the supervision of the water conservancy industry and ensure watersafety across the district.
