On the afternoon of June 23rd, Wang Shouwei,the Chairman of the municipal committee of CPPCC led a team to visit theconstruction site of the Ching River-Shashi section ecological restoration and protectionproject (Shashi Foreign Wharf Cultural and Creative Park) to inspect theprogress of the project.

According to Wang Shouwei, it is necessaryto build the Foreign Wharf featuring “cultural and tourism integration”, whichmainly presents wharf culture, commercial port culture and the Yangtze Riverwater culture. It is designed to be an urban hall integrating ecologicaltourism, cultural display, cultural and creative retail, leisure andentertainment and shared by both local people and tourists.

He emphasized that development is the bestprotection. Relying on Foreign Wharf area to build a cultural and creative parkis not only the inheritance of Jingzhou’s historical culture, but also thedevelopment direction of Jingzhou’s future fashion and creative industries. Allrelevant departments should develop high quality plan with a whole picture inmind and high standards, select premium partners and make coordinated effortsto promote the development of the cultural industry.
