On July 8,it was learned from the Department of Civil Affairs of Hubei Province that therelevant department recently issued the central special subsidies of RMB 54.96million in 2020 to support Xiangyang, Jingzhou and Huanggang in carrying outthe pilot reform of in-home and community-based elderly care services.

Xiangyang, Jingzhou and Huanggang will introduce new ideas intothe mechanisms and systems, while leading the exploration and implementation ofnew measures, in terms of improving effective supply of urban community elderlycare services, ensuring the supply of elderly service facilities, setting upthe basic elderly care system for the special and vulnerable group, promotingthe development of intelligent elderly care services, putting in place in-homeand community-based elderly care services in the rural area, thus enhancing thecomprehensive capabilities of rendering in-home and community-based elderlycare services.

It is reported that since 2016, the Ministry of Civil Affairsand the Ministry of Finance have carried out the pilot reform of in-home andcommunity-based elderly care services nationwide for five consecutive years.Previously, Wuhan, Huangshi, Yichang, Xianning, Jingmen and Xiaogan have been incorporatedinto the first four batches of cities carrying out the pilot reform. Atpresent, a total of 9 cities in our province have been selected to perform thepilot reform of in-home and community-based elderly care services.
